04/01/2026: This is a great place to stop on your way to or coming back from the westerly extremes of west cork. Great food and coffee that tastes like coffee. Mince pies to die for. Keep it going!!!

Kalbos Cafe at The Uillinn

Ballydehob
21/10/2025: I'm a regular and loyal client of this cafe. Here you may find delicious coffee and desserts. There is a cozy outdoor courtyard and small shop with treats. I've ordered tasty bowls many times to take away and have lunch at Ludgate Hub. Thank you dear Siobhan and Anthony for the consistently highest quality! Eugene from Ukraine. See you at Kalbos! ;)
11/10/2025: Lovely cakes to enjoy in the place or take away with a coffee πŸ˜€ Salads, quiche, sausage rolls etc look very nice. Of course I bought a very nice Irish bread πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹

Chestnut

Ballydehob
30/10/2025: A fabulous dining experience at restaurant Chestnut. We had the four course set taster menu with wine pairing. From the warm greeting and service from Elaine and team to the DELICIOUS food prepared by Rob and the kitchen team the experience was incredible. The food was thought provoking and very tasty, Thank you πŸ™
30/10/2025: Had the most amazing experience at The Chestnut Restaurant. The staff were so welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable of all their produce and dishes. We couldn't fault anything we ate and the wine pairing was fabulous too. Yes! It's not cheap but you know why when you taste the delights they offer.

Antonio's

Ballydehob
22/02/2026: We treated ourselves with a visit to this underrated hidden gem in West Cork. If you ever had visited Italy or ever had genuine Italian food …you know … we had antipasti, pasta, pizza and desert πŸ˜‹. Everything was fresh and well balanced. The house red was a little disappointing but will return for the delicious food again, soon! We were very well looked after by friendly and attentive staff.
03/11/2025: The Italian shopkeepers were very friendly. If you're passing by and on your way to Mizen Head, you can stop by for a meal.

Bally Bia

Ballydehob
02/12/2025: We took some takeaway from here a year ago. Since then, every time when we think β€œIf you could have anything to eat, what would it be?” 10/10 times it’d be the chicken tenders from this place. Thank you for changing our life πŸ™πŸΌ
27/09/2025: Quick bite on walk back to accommodation. While waiting for my food, spotted some of the food that was coming out of the kitchen, looks top and tasty. One of the nicest fish and chips I've had in a long time. Nice meaty bit of fish in a light crispy batter. Chips skin on and crispy with tartar sauce. Polished away!

Duggans Restaurant

Ballydehob
07/05/2025: What can I tell you about this place that the walls won't tell. This restaurant is an epitome of the struggles, highs and lows of a family business who have paved their way to make it. I had chips, battered sausage and a home made chicken fillet burger. Sensible choices i should say. While my friends made their own options (not entirely wise :D). I found the prices really competitive and economical and a better burger than Ballybia. The service was exceptional and is cut from a different cloth that you don't find in our generation. Sure it isn't a high dine and it might take a while on a mental weekend but that was never the expectation either. The stories that we got to hear and your warmth truly left us a lasting impression. One thing I say is money can't buy history, culture or tradition and this place checks all three. Thank you for feeding us and your tips on getting a stain removed from a white top. We'll definitely stop by the next time we're in Ballydehog. Much love Ashley, John, Sachita, Brina
