The best restaurants in Midleton

07/11/2025: Ferrit & Lee in Midleton, is now well established in the town. Ezcellent food, wide a varied menu, excellent range of wines and beer sold if you fancy being laid back. Food is excellent, while getting the portions sizes just right. You're not stuffed and you're nit wanting more. Starters and deserts can't be faulted either. Soft mood lighting, ezcellent service all in all a very nice dining experience.

26/10/2025: I feel really bad about this experience. The waiting staff were lovely, I had a beautiful welcome and impeccable service. However, this restaurant was not as expected. I ordered the Jameson marinated beef, and some garlic and onion fries to accompany. First off the bat, the portions are massive. My internal food cost alarm was going off. The beef came with enough roast potatoes for a couple and I was dining alone. The fries were not fries. They were chunky chips. When you say fries, I guarantee you that 99.9% of people imagine French fries. To make matters worse, the chunky chips were half cooked with some raw and under cooked. The same can be said of the roast potatoes. I said at the beginning that the waiting staff were lovely, and they were. However they need to be more incisive. My plate was not finished and no comment was made about this. I also received no check back, which would have enabled me to say things were not right. Overall, I was left in a bad mood and did not enjoy the meal.

07/11/2025: Beautiful, real oak fire pizza. Wonderful atmosphere. Nice selection of pizza. Quick service.

18/10/2025: While visiting from NM in the US we stumbled on this great place. The owners are very personable and professional. The pizza was great and it’s just a short walk from the Jameson Distillery.

16/11/2025: Our stay absolutely exceeded expectations. We got a very reasonable rate and I had set my expectations according to that. The room was spacious and the beds were so comfortable. Our dinner was fabulous and again, very reasonable. The breakfast was lovely and had everything you could need. I couldn’t think of one thing they could improve on.

15/11/2025: My stay at the Talbot Hotel Midleton was exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism, especially by Andrea Kadović at reception, whose friendly attitude and efficiency made a wonderful first impression. The bar and restaurant teams were equally outstanding, offering excellent service and creating a welcoming atmosphere throughout my stay. Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, and I would highly recommend the Talbot Hotel Midleton to anyone looking for comfort, great service, and a memorable stay.

02/11/2025: I really enjoyed my meal here, the food was fantastic and the staff were incredible. The atmosphere was wonderful and the hand-painted art on the walls of the restaurant as well as on the stairs when going up were beautiful, the place seems like a real labour of love and it’s obvious every member of staff take huge pride in this restaurant. There are a large variety of options on the menu and the portions were huge! We were seated by the window and had a great view of the town, and the staff were very welcoming and friendly and made every effort to ensure we were all happy and didn’t need anything. One man in particular made an effort to chat with my family and even brought a complimentary dessert to celebrate my father’s birthday which was really kind, I wish we got his name because he was a very generous host. The lamb kofta was absolutely gorgeous and I will definitely be back to try more options on the menu as they all looked delicious and it was a struggle to pick just one. The menu also included vegetarian and vegan options so it’s suitable for pretty much anyone, as well as a play area for young kids which is very thoughtful. Thanks so much to all the staff for making a wonderful evening for my family, I have absolutely no complaints and will definitely be a returning customer!

04/08/2025: Will definitely be back for the Turkey & Ham, so delicious 🤤 The breakfast (all day?!?) was really lovely and €14 is a relatively okay price for the size and included tea. The waiters were really friendly and the outdoor seating is gorgeous

17/07/2025: I went there for dinner this evening with my daughter and husband. Both the starters and the main courses were super: my husband had a pan seared duck breast, my daughter had beef, and I had fish. The cheesecake: top choice! The staff is very kind and helpful! It was a very nice experience, thank you!

13/07/2025: We knew we hit the jackpot when we saw the queue out the door. The pastries are beautiful, especially the Raspberry Danish. The staff were lovely and the coffee was delicious. We grabbed a sourdough special on the way out the door.

03/07/2025: I recommend going here for breakfast or lunch, or just for sourdough bread or sweet baked. There's not that many seating, but there is some, it's also perfect for takeaway. I loved the sourdough and kimchi sandwich. Freshly baked and great taste. And the banana bread was very good! Nice staff and good service. You just have to try it🙌 I'm coming back!

02/12/2025: Friendly and fast service. Portions are large and filling. Perfect for coming with children. Very cozy restaurant serving breakfast and lunch. Plenty of space not only for couples, but also for larger groups of people.

01/11/2025: Firstly, a huge thank you to Brendan. My return from last year for 3 wonderful nights and plan to return next year. Supremely clean and comfortable rooms. A cozy traditional pub lies below rooms. A few minute walk into Midelton town centre. A 3 minute walk to train station which will have you into Cork City Centre in 22 minutes. Thanks to a terrific staff and the friendly locals who frequent this gem of a pub.

19/09/2025: What a place, super clean bed & breakfast with a friendly well run bar downstairs. Brendan the owner is a super nice guy. We had some great chats. The breakfast was very generous, lots of local produce on the menu, rashers & sausages etc. The bar stocks Blacks Beer & the best selection of Stonewell Ciders I've seen in a bar that size. Also the obligatory locally produced Midleton Whiskey

14/11/2025: Beautiful place, with great selection of cocktails quirky and traditional, wines, whiskeys, gins and everything else! Not a casual place, need to wear your best blouse or polo. With that it can be more expensive side for Midleton.

16/09/2025: Meh, it was there, it was open lasagna was okay. Service was prompt. It was cash only when I visited.

17/08/2025: The tables are right on top of each other - you might as well be eating with the next table. It was so hot there and no air con. And a year later the card machine not working....they only take cash. Food ok would not be in a hurry back.

11/11/2025: They used to scoop chips when you got a battered sausage it was a treat to get now they stopped it .the potato cheese and onion pie was bland onion was nearly raw inside could do with more cheese and seasoning

20/08/2025: I had a coffee, and saw what was called a Portuguese custard tart....pastel de nata.. which I must say was horrible. It was dry, no lemon zest taste and absolutely no cinnamon won't be back

10/08/2025: Overall it's a nice cafe with good potential and very comfortable seating options. The cappuccino was good and the overall atmosphere was nice. My biggest criticism is the place was freezing cold as they leave the door open even on cold mornings which is ridiculous. The place looked good in terms of cleanliness except some of the tables needed a deeper clean. Staff were friendly and professional enough. Would I return?......yes, if they closed the door and turned on the heating.
