17/08/2026: Outstanding service, value, and food. Highly recommend for anyone in the area to pop in and have a quick starter / drink or full course. Suitable for all ages and a brilliant atmosphere, server James was very accommodating.

27/10/2025: Unpleasant experience.
We waited at the bar for around 20 minutes without being acknowledged. Despite approaching staff several times to ask about getting a table, we continued to be ignored. Unfortunately, we decided to leave.
28/09/2025: The food here was genuinely outstanding... chicken curry with half chips & rice - as good as anywhere Ive eaten. Superb / friendly service also.

The Townhouse OD's

27/06/2026: I ordered the chicken and stuffing toastie.
All I got was dry floppy untoasted bread with cold chicken .
Very disappointed .
I also requested takeaway cutlery and was told they didn't have it available.
I then asked a different member of staff who gave me takeaway cutlery straight away.
So I was lied to, and given a cold meat sandwich when I asked for hot
28/03/2026: A great bar and restaurant. Our family just spent a couple of evenings in The Townhouse and we were so well looked after. Really lovely food and reasonably priced. We will be back again!

15/07/2025: This bar has disimproved over the last few years. Still much better than Hacketts (full of poseurs) opposite and has a reasonable selection of drinks. Needs a loving hand to bring it back to what it was.
