14/12/2025: A bit out of town but well worth the walk. Lovely quiet location with amazing views. All of the staff were so pleasant to deal with.
Very happy with my experience in this hotel and would definitely stay there again.
06/12/2025: Our Xmas party was held there. Beautifully decorated interior very christmasy. Food was delicious, staff friendly and helpful. Will definitely be going back

22/10/2025: Favourite spot. Always great experience. Brunch, dinner or night out. Drinks, food, service, always excellent. Staff amazing and very helpful. Nice cosy place with homely feeling. Downstairs party room opened on weekends. Live music and always good time. Recommended.
11/10/2025: In the heart of this small Irish town, I found this beautiful place run by three young, very kind and delightful women.
I ate very well, and the prices are much lower than in nearby towns.
The selection of beers is as vast as ever, and the dishes are carefully prepared, plentiful, and delicious.
It's worth stopping in for lunch or dinner.

18/10/2025: I could get no room in the shearwater hotel, they recommend pillar house bar to me, I just wanted a bed to sleep in, nothing fancy.
It's in the town , and a few steps down from the pub itself.
Absolutely did the job for me, the bed is massive and ensuite small but it's only me.
50 euro for the night no breakfast, that's grand
And no hurry up in the morning.

30/11/2025: Today, my daughter and her friend were denied entry to this establishment, and we believe it was solely because they are Spanish. The situation was discriminatory and extremely unpleasant. We want others to be aware of what happened so they can decide whether they wish to support a place where such incidents occur.

09/09/2025: Asked for a southern fryed lunch box said no problem but what I got was two dried up drumsticks ,and a dried up thigh with over seasoned / reheated chips( not southern fried ) id say chicken was lying under heat lamp all day ,absolute crap ,the guy tried to say it was fresh and southern fryed.nowvut was far from Southern fried ,over fried id say ,food has gone downhill in last 5 years, it's now the pits ,the dog wouldn't even eat it ,
Very dissatisfied customer .
