01/01/2025: I am extremely disappointed with the experience we had at 33 for our work Christmas Party. One of my colleagues, despite being 27 years old, was initially refused entry. She was told to return home to Newbridge to retrieve her ID, effectively disrupting her ability to participate in our event. Another colleague, who also resides in Newbridge was refused entry as she arrived with the other member of staff. They were informed they would need to leave by 9:30 PM. At exactly 9:30 PM, the bouncer who had initially denied them entry was waiting behind them to enforce their removal. Meanwhile, other guests in our group were at the bar ordering drinks. Despite this, we were told that the two colleagues could not wait inside while the rest of the group finished their beverages. I attempted to reason with the bouncer, but he was unwilling to listen. When I requested to speak with the manager, I encountered the same inflexible attitude. The manager claimed that our email confirmation specified that all guests were required to present ID; however, this was not the case. I proposed a compromise, asking that our group be allowed to finish our drinks before leaving, but this was flatly refused. In addition to this situation, the overall service we received was substandard. We were not permitted to order drinks through the waitstaff, no desserts were offered, and the bill was abruptly placed on the table without being requested. It is deeply concerning that this incident appears to be rooted in discrimination. The colleague who was asked for ID is a member of the Travelling community, and it is my belief that she was singled out because she did not blend in with others entering the venue. This discriminatory treatment is unacceptable. The emotional toll it took on her is evident; she has since apologised repeatedly, blaming herself for “ruining” the party, when in reality, the fault lies entirely with the conduct of your staff. It is appalling that someone could be made to feel this way simply for being themselves. Our group was neither loud nor disrespectful, yet we were met with shockingly poor treatment. This experience reflects extremely poorly on your establishment and raises serious concerns about the fairness and professionalism of your staff.

30/12/2024: Avoid 33 south main at all costs❌❌ Rude, lazy staff members, one of the girls refused to serve my friends & I drinks because it was obviously too much bother for her to actually do her job🤣after we waited over an hour for our food that they obviously travelled all the way to another country for (it took that long to make)😂also repeatedly ignored me trying to call multiple girls to order food until I literally went up to one of the girls & asked if she could finally take our order after sitting there for ages!! The service was actually disgusting🤮. I don’t know who’s worse JOHN the “bouncer” who takes his job way too serious or the so called “manager” PADDY of this restaurant as John picked me out of all my work friends & asked me for id at my big hairy age of 27😂& with a bit of persuading I was allowed in but told to leave at half 9 for some reason???? So half 9 comes around & I was told to leave so JOHN & PADDY made a show of me & kicked me out after I did no harm to anyone only tried to enjoy my work party with my friends😅I would say they were discriminating against me for being a traveller the fact I was picked on which is sad because it’s 2024 & I’m still getting treated like a dog, like I did something wrong!! Should be ashamed of yourselves for treating anyone the way you treated me last night. Also this was our third work party here & there was ever any kind of problem with me being there until John came along🥴. A BIG FAT -8/10🤢
