Yamamori

Dublin
03/04/2024: Absolutely delicious lunch at Yamamori! The Chicken miso ramen is perhaps the BEST ramen I have ever had. They offer a full egg in their ramen with plenty of fresh vegetables, rich broth and grilled chicken with sauce. Their nigiri is also fresh and delicious. Absolutely recommend if you’re finished touring the city in the area nearby St. Patrick’s cathedral!

Silver kitchen

Dublin
18/01/2024: Food was amazing ! I had ordered Duck curry , Chicken fry , Butter chicken , Pulao for 35 guest. Everybody just loved it ! Thank you Jins !
10/12/2023: Really nice to have some Southern Indian food, the Dosas are favourites in our house along with the mango lassi (which in many places can be too sweet). The service is prompt and food in nice portions, only the breads could do with a bit more work and love. Everything else has been great, we've had this a number of times now and on the whole loved everything.

Aoshima

Dublin
19/03/2024: Delicious food and very helpful staff!
17/03/2024: Went for dinner for the first time in ages. It is still every bit as good as I remembered. Used to go here regularly when we lived nearby. Moved a few years ago, but missed our visits here. The food is excellent. Fresh and tasty. I had ebi tempura and duck gyoza. Both were among the best I have ever tasted. Prawns were perfectly cooked. Very tasty and sweet, the batter was so crisp and light. The gyoza were packed with tasty duck. So beautiful. My colleague had a sushi platter… it was delicious and so fresh. The service was friendly and quick. Cannot speak highly enough about Aoshima. Will be back soon… and regularly.

Soup

Dublin
24/03/2024: My new fav restaurant in Dun Laoghaire. Food, atmosphere, location, value, portion size, healthiness - all tickets in one place. Lovely staff too
18/03/2024: Went as a group of 5 while visiting friends in Dun Laoghaire and had the loveliest evening. Staff were amazing, so accommodating, kind and helpful and gave us great recommendations for their own favourite things on the menu which I love. We shared the Korean fried chicken, pulled pork and duck spring rolls to start, and then all got chicken or pork ramen for our main. The food really was amazing, so perfectly seasoned and made with really quality ingredients. Our favourites were the Korean fried chicken and the spring rolls, but the ramen was also honestly one of the best I've ever had. Really nice cocktail menu, two of us tried those - the Yuzu sour and their green I think rum based cocktail? Both were lovely. Will definitely be returning when we're back in Dun Laoghaire, thanks for a lovely evening!

Michie Sushi

Dublin
09/12/2023: Absolutely a hidden gem off the main thoroughfare of Ranelagh. I did not think this restaurant actually existed for almost a year due to the odd location down a relatively residential road. To my most pleasant surprise, I wandered down the road one afternoon and found myself in the coziest, friendliest atmosphere I could imagine. It felt like I had wandered into a friend's living room. There are maybe 12 seats in the dining area, so even if the room was full, it was never too loud, and never too crowded. The walls are lined with awards and japanese-style art, including calligraphy and watercolor paintings. The music is lofi-beats with japanese flutes, bells, string instruments, etc., and creates a calming atmosphere. Ana is the host of the restaurant: she is always nearby and ready to help. I never felt once pressured to stay or to go faster. At this point, I've been at least six times, and have brought multiple friends with me. We've all agreed so far that Michie Ranelagh is a overall wonderful little shop, with great prices and great food. My favorite dishes: - Chirashi: A filling meal with a taste of every fish the shop offers, including fishes not often seen in sushi restaurants in this city! I've yet to find a restaurant other than Michie that has /good/ ikura (salmon roe). I've gotten this meal several times and have never once had a fault to note. - Dengoku: A savory appetizer of lightly battered tempura aubergine and soft/silken tofu. I can never cook aubergine correctly, so I jump for joy when a restaurant does it well. - My friends have said lovely things about the Salmon Platter, the Tuna Handroll, and the Pumpkin hosomaki (small roll) My least favorite dishes: - Agedashi Tofu: While the dashi sauce was delicious and a mix of savoury and sweet, the tempura coating of the silken tofu wasn't fully cooked or cripsy enough to stand up to the stock, so it turned into a gummy, glutinous slurp that distracted from the soft tofu. Sadly I was not a fan of that texture.

Ukiyo

Dublin
31/03/2024: The food is good enough but honestly could use a lot more seasoning. All the food was close but still pretty far. Like their galbi was just not seated or marinated enough to really have that punch of a flavor. It had some of the taste of galbi, but like one where someone is scared to offend you with flavor. Their kimchi was also pretty mid. Like the kind you could get at a nice buffet. The Singapore noodles had a decent sauce but the noodles were lacking in seasoning, to the point of being fairly glass noodle like, even though those are definitely not the noodles they're using. Drinks here are nice though :). The salted caramel ice cream was wayyyyyy too salty. And that's a huge statement to make for a salt fiend like myself. Like some scoops would be so fire and then it goes to bad. But honestly, the service is really spot on and the music, at least downstairs is a hecking vibe. Like more of an EDM dub kind of beat that day. Would recommend.
30/03/2024: If you feel like having some fusion asian food, and you’re close by, drop in for some food! The food here is super solid, and the prices here are also OK. They also have drinks here, so if you want to have a group dinner with some alcohol, it’s also quite a nice place. Some in our group had some dietary restrictions, and they accommodated us with no problems at all. Only thing that could be improved is that we waited for our bill for like 20 minutes, which created a lot of awkwardness. All in all, good.
