02/04/2024: The last thing we expected when moving to a small town in the middle of Ireland was to find really good, wood-fired pizza, and so we were really pleasantly surprised when we did! My husband trained as a pizza chef at home in Italy and even he is impressed! Fair play to this takeaway for doing justice to Italy's national dish!!
04/12/2023: Food nice. Staff as rude and could use some lessons in manners if they want business . Esp one woman. She seemed either a manager or someone with a stick up her rear. Accused me of taking the piss out of her because I didn't hear her first time she called me. Probably because I tuned out her bawling at everyone else as well.
This isn't the first time I've been treated rudely.
Local clique. God forbid you're an outsider..

19/03/2024: Coffee was nice, but a bit disappointed that a bakery doesn't know what a black forest gateux is. The cake was placed with the outside facing in so couldn't have known and the staff didn't say anything when we ordered it. It was a white sponge with a sweet cream and some berries which is nothing like what a black forest gateux is.
20/01/2024: It was very busy here today but the food was lovely and great service.

16/02/2024: Ordered chicken balls, chips and shredded chicken with curry sauce. Could not believe the disgrace we were given. Reheated food that was cooked hours ago. The only thing that was fresh was the curry sauce. 25 euro for absolute muck. All the food was luke warm and reheated. Shambles

Maybe the tastiest full Irish breakfast in Portlaoise! Well worth a visit. Friendly, helpful staff. Banquette style seating. Sometimes the excellent background music is too loud, so suggest asking for it to be turned down while you're there.
There is always plenty of parking and it's adjacent to a newly opened Tesco store. ππ€·πΌββοΈπͺπππππ

Was the best spice bag and fresh Asian food I've had in Portlaoise.
Dissapoointed and wish they'd remove themselves from just eat if they're not reopening .

18/02/2024: Can't beat a Supermac's chicken breast sandwich to be fair. Fab staff at this location, really kind and capable with kids, nothing is any bother. Nice and clean too.
18/02/2024: Lovely Supermacs branch, the staff were friendly. Manager was proactive, he cleared our table. Overall much better than our local Mullingar branch.

19/12/2023: I ordered the eggs florentine, my colleague ordered the eggs benedict.
Both dishes arrived with perfectly poached eggs on 2 scabby slices of soda bread, not a muffin as on the menu.
We ate what was served and it was nice .
I did complain that it wasn't what was on the menu and was told muffins 'can't be got' ....we were still charged β¬8:50 for 2 poached eggs on soda bread not eggs Florentine / Benedict
05/11/2023: While in Portarlington I decided to have lunch and found The French 1/4. I was pleasantly surprised as my lunch was very good indeed. As I didn't have too much time to spare, I opted for scrambled eggs on toast with a pot of tea. The eggs were excellent and delicious and also available was Gluten Free toast. As I am Coeliac it was great to have the option.
I'll certainly return on my next trip to Portarlington!

30/12/2023: I'm not realy a lover of this style of food. But I must say lastnight our meal has changed my mind. The tika an onion baji wer very nice. I'd glady order again . But I do think it's a little over priced.
