Bistro 53
Maynooth
04/09/2025: We (group of 6) went for the 2 course special - main meal and dessert. We ordered a good variety of dishes - chicken, fish, lasagne etc.The food was generally very good. No issue with the service either. The waiters were attentive and friendly. However we ordered a few portions of chips which were truely awful. Supermarket quality and woefully undercooked. They should never have left the kitchen. Unfortunately, it's what I remember most about the meal.
01/09/2025: Amazing place! My family and I went twice on our 4-day stay around Maynooth. Every dish was great, and the service was amazing (so was the ambiance, especially Saturday night). Definitely would recommend to everyone, as their menu is diverse.

10/08/2025: A must-visit in Co. Kildare! Warm welcome, amazing Spanish flavours, and great value. The Early Bird menu (17:00โ19:00) is excellent โ high-quality dishes with no compromise despite the price. Booking is essential as itโs always busy. Can get noisy when full, but perfect for a lively gathering with friends!๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป
25/07/2025: Had lunch today, if the menu hadnโt referenced that Mexican food was served, I wouldnโt have guessed from the food. Ordinary food without Mexican flavour. Very disappointing but on the upside the staff are warm, welcoming and really great.

27/11/2024: Myself & my partner decided to visit this restaurant after not being there for quite some time. We were looking forward to it as food was always amazing & staff were lovely. How disappointed could we have been!!!When we went to order we asked the waitress did they still do the "lovely coleslaw" & she told us "no, the chef thinks it's too time consuming to make it" We should have left then!!!! We decided on the wings to share, which were clearly clearly taken out of the microwave & a small bit of hot sauce put over them. The main course consisted of my partner having greasy, heavily battered cod with frozen chips & I having the the part boiled pasta, tossed with boiled chicken & what seemed like a tin of condensed mushroom soup. No taste & absolutely zero effort put into each dish. The so-called "chef" should be ashamed of himself presenting food like this to paying customers. When we complained, the waitress (who to be fair was a lovely lady) understood & didn't charge for the pasta dish. Such a disappointing experience & as locals to the area, we won't be back.
