Harp Tavern
Sligo
07/04/2025: Stopped in for lunch to the Harp in Sligo yesterday, It was flat out busy and table turnover was high. The food was excellent, couldn’t be faulted. The staff land service however left me speechless. They are the best example of teamwork, customer service and excellence in hospitality that I’ve ever experienced. Their friendly manner, efficiency, speed, attention to detail, and level of engagement with each others, the customers, the standard service and the job at hand was fantastic to watch! They set the bar for standards in hospitality. Well done. Caroline

We celebrated our engagement in the Harp and as always we were looked after so well. Ann and her team went above and beyond for us. Fantastic atmosphere and beautiful food. We feel so lucky to have the Harp tavern on our door step

Ocean Sands Hotel - Enniscrone, Co. Sligo, Ireland
Inniscrone
23/04/2025: We booked this hotel on the bases it was dog friendly! I can confirm it absolutely is not. On entry there is not even a water dog bowl. The waiting lobbing area does not have adequate space to sit with you dog, there was a little corner that said dog friendly that you were ment to huddle up in but you couldn't even do that because it was taking up by none dog owners. We couldn't even make a booking to sit and eat with our dog "considering I was told over the phone that there is plenty of space to sit out side the restaurant to order food with your dog" there is an our door space but with no cover or heaters , open to the elements. Our room took an hour and 40 past check in time to be ready. Down a little lane way with two doors that slammed shut every time someone went through them. Our room had a bathroom where the toilet seat had sealed in stains and also didn't even sit properly on the toilet bowl, the shower had mould on the wall tiles and I had a lovely surprise of two dirty towels mixed between the clean ones, also the bedding had a lot to answer for :( . We had a lovely window view only if you stuck your head out the corner other than that you were looking at a wall ! . The next morning we took off for a walk with our dog to come back to see our room had been "cleaned" I don't understand why you would send a cleaner into a room that Is hosting a dog! This could have been a problem someone entering the room that my dog didn't know if she was there on her own for a brief moment (which we only did when running down to grab some breakfast) .also a real bad smell of damp in the bathroom. There was no inside outside area to bring you dog to relive themselves you have to cross the road and go into the public field, which isint ideal when your taking your dog for a late night piddle , The beech is fantastic and the local to the beech couldn't be closer , breakfast was nice but the young staff members kept standing in front of the hot food stands as they didn't know what to be doing with themselves other than being in the way . The coffee was so weak it was more like here's hot water with a smell of coffee .
So basically I wouldn't stay again, I paid 465 for two nights with breakfast for two adults one teen and a dog .

Ait Eile
Inniscrone
11/02/2025: We had a lovely experience in Ait Eile last weekend. Service was excellent. Lovely choice of wines and the food was superb. I had cod which was absolutely delicious. Others had steak, salmon and a variety of starters. Apart from the steak being a little over cooked, the meal was just a lovely experience.
07/01/2025: I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Ait Eile, firstly I was warmly welcomed in by Tracy. There were lots of options for both adults and kids on the menu. Katie, my server, was really kind and friendly, which made the whole experience even better. After my mains I had a warm brownie dessert, it was unbelievable
Overall I would highly recommend Ait Eile to anyone looking for a clean and welcoming environment to eat.

The gourmet parlour at the village food fair collooney
01/04/2025: I was invited to a brunch where everybody had to bring something "from home". I just went directly to Gourmet Parlour and one hour later, all the other guests at the brunch were enthusing over the delicious quiches I bought. I even bought one for my mother, who is not a "quiche woman" and she also enthused. To such an extent that I had to go another day and buy more. Yes, the prices are on the high side but the quality of the products and service more than make up for that. I wish people would stop complaining about the price of food created with love and good, healthy, IRISH ingredients.
18/12/2024: Stopped here for a takeaway sandwich during the week, turkey, ham and stuffing on brown bread, sandwich was approx 7cm by 9cm, was absolutely lovely but priced at €8.90 per sandwich was a bit much, I am by no means a miser, but come on, €8.90 for a sandwich that size with 3 small fillings in it. you are shooting yourselves in the foot and while your food is very good I for one will not be returning.
