27/01/2025: We had breakfast this morning and it was a wonderful experience for my mum and I thanks to the wonderful staff who took such good care of us, especially my mum and her wheelchair. We were made welcome and at ease from the moment we approached the entrance. Mary helped us at the door and organised our table to accommodate mum's wheelchair and then myself. Mum decided a standard chair would be more comfortable for her and again Mary was brilliant in making this happen without fuss and engaging mum in constant comforting conversation.
The food was excellent and the service was too... We are planning our next visit already.
We do not usually review places we eat but we promised ourselves we would support this local shop and restaurant with a positive review because everyone should get to share this simple but enjoyable treat.

18/12/2024: Lovely warm welcome, big fires, wonderful staff and everywhere buzzing.
We had gorgeous lunch, excellent beef and crunchy apple crumble, top class, excellent.
Thank you, you all made sad, nostalgic trip to Athlone very alright!!

04/10/2024: Passing by, stopped for a coffee. Not a big fan of paper cups when consuming in a coffee shop. Not a snob or eco warrior either. It simply kills the spell. I doubt they would serve coffe in paper cups in Italy unless it is a take away.
12/09/2024: I frequently drop into Lillymay’s Café in Moate, and it never disappoints! The warm, inviting atmosphere makes it a perfect spot to relax, whether you’re there for a quick coffee or a bite to eat . The food is consistently fresh and delicious, with an impressive variety of homemade dishes and treats.
A special mention to Frank, the owner, who always makes everyone feel welcome with his friendly and personable service. His passion for the café truly shines through in everything, from the quality of the food to the overall experience. If you’re ever in Moate, Lillymay’s is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

I'll say it simply..
Food was amazing 👏
We were brought in for a 3 course meal and seated and were looked after for the starters and the mains. After that, forget about it. Mains and starter food was good, HOWEVER, its no good when waiters/servers forget about the rest of the evening.....
1 member of service staff avoided our table on purpose to the point we eventually just got up and left after 30 mins......yes, 30 mins.
Keep your desert. How sad if this is how you conduct business. I will not return I can promise.

04/09/2024: visited Don's for a craft beer festival which was hosted in the beer garden. venue had arranged live music, the beer garden is large with ample seating, access to the bar can be gained easily, and facilities were ample. a food truck was present on the day, which served a few tasty options, including a beef brisket sub which I enjoyed.

19/01/2025: Absolutely horrible service from here as a local was disgusted with the lack of respect. Firstly, driver arrived and requested extra money for the garlic dip for the pizza. Said fine, got the money and then realised there was no drink, while food was also lukewarm with the meat on the pizza a concerning colour as well as softness for “crispy bacon”. Then rang the shop to let them know they forgot the drink, where they were too busy taking to one another, finally got their attention to be told they left out the drink because the offer is only for weekdays. I asked them why would they have the offer available on the website if it was only for midweek and why would they not have rang to inform me of this rather then purposefully leaving out items that were ordered. This was ignored, no apology, no explanation. Not to forget there was about 10 chips in a large portion.
14/09/2024: Downsizing. U pay for large kebab and receive a half smaller than was. It's tricky to fill pita mostly with lettuce, onion and...Air..very small amount of meat. Definitely not gonna back.
