24/11/2024: We had a most enjoyable brunch-type meal. The staff were attentive and helpful, advising us of items on the menu. The meal filled our hungry tummies successfully, and the coffee was excellent! Even though it was a Monday morning, the place was busy. Definitely recommended.

09/11/2024: Brought my elderly parents here today for breakfast en route from Dublin to Galway. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful and offered a hot top up on tea for all; food was excellent and service was efficient. Ambience was friendly and personal and menu was extensive and very reasonable. Owner/Manager made the stop off highly memorable with her concern and general generosity. I was only sorry I hadn’t cash for a tip as don’t accept tip on card. Will stop again soon and will have wallet on the ready. Thank you one and all. Keep doing what you re doing!!

08/09/2024: Back here to this spot after a year.... I'll say it simply.. Food was amazing 👏 We were brought in for a 3 course meal and seated and were looked after for the starters and the mains. After that, forget about it. Mains and starter food was good, HOWEVER, its no good when waiters/servers forget about the rest of the evening..... 1 member of service staff avoided our table on purpose to the point we eventually just got up and left after 30 mins......yes, 30 mins. Keep your desert. How sad if this is how you conduct business. I will not return I can promise.

19/10/2024: After reading some positive reviews of The Shack we decided to call there on Friday evening for food and drinks but disappointingly food finished at 4pm. We were however so impressed with the warm welcome , lovely atmosphere and beautifully presented bar we decided to stay for a drink. The bar is spotless , staff were very friendly and there was a lovely buzz. It’s deserving of its number 1 pub in Athlone accolade

19/10/2024: Myself and my daughter had lunch here last Sunday and it was the best I have eaten in a long time.I have eaten here before and it is always good.I had the pork belly with cider sauce and I cannot get it out of my head it was so good the best ever my daughter had a salad she loved it I can't wait to return this is a real gem.

04/10/2024: Passing by, stopped for a coffee. Not a big fan of paper cups when consuming in a coffee shop. Not a snob or eco warrior either. It simply kills the spell. I doubt they would serve coffe in paper cups in Italy unless it is a take away.

12/09/2024: I frequently drop into Lillymay’s Café in Moate, and it never disappoints! The warm, inviting atmosphere makes it a perfect spot to relax, whether you’re there for a quick coffee or a bite to eat . The food is consistently fresh and delicious, with an impressive variety of homemade dishes and treats. A special mention to Frank, the owner, who always makes everyone feel welcome with his friendly and personable service. His passion for the café truly shines through in everything, from the quality of the food to the overall experience. If you’re ever in Moate, Lillymay’s is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

04/09/2024: visited Don's for a craft beer festival which was hosted in the beer garden. venue had arranged live music, the beer garden is large with ample seating, access to the bar can be gained easily, and facilities were ample. a food truck was present on the day, which served a few tasty options, including a beef brisket sub which I enjoyed.

14/09/2024: Downsizing. U pay for large kebab and receive a half smaller than was. It's tricky to fill pita mostly with lettuce, onion and...Air..very small amount of meat. Definitely not gonna back.

11/09/2024: Eaten here since we moved close by the past 12 months. Always had a good experience and have tried several dishes but my usual is a kebab meal and have never had any issues until tonight. The first alarm bell was the usual fresh kebab on the rotating broiler was absent which is highly unusual..returning home and tucking into the kebab the kebab meat was pale and the only flavour from the meat itself was that of freezer burn so it was removed and replaced with the chips from the meal deal to try salvage my dinner. Hope they clean up there act and serve decent food unfrozen because we sure as hell pay enough to recieve edible food with flavour
