03/11/2024: We went to Saltee Coast Hotel retsurant for food only so can't comment on accommodation. But the hotel seems very well maintained. It is slightly away from overcrowded Kilmore Quay, which was exactly what we were looking for. We went there bit late for lunch after exploring saltee island. We were welcomed warmly and served with really tasty fish n chips. I have to say this was a really tasty fish n chips I had in long time. Highly recommend this place.
28/09/2024: Difficult! The Saltees is a hotel/motel with a restaurant. The food is tasty and of good quality, service is good and the staff is friendly.
But: The restaurant atmosphere is unworthy of a hotel with high standards, i.e. the seating seems cheap, the ambience is unmotivating and the bar is an integral part - including drunk and rowdy guests. There is also a billiard table right next to the restaurant tables within reach of the cues.
Very unfortunate.

The Wooden House

24/09/2024: Stopped off on our way back to the UK.
We had booked a studio.
Room very tired. The bathroom shower cubicle was not clean and there was a broken door. The kitchen basic and again the window was not clean, the mirror in the main room was also not clean.
In front of the rooms there were a couple of tables and chairs - but again the whole area needed to be tided and cleaned.
No food was available at the hotel so, we went to a local takeaway.
Given it was over £150 for a one night stay, room only, I was expecting a more modern facility with up to date, clean rooms.
For me, not great value for money and I would look elsewhere next time.
12/08/2024: The apartment was lovely we really enjoyed our stay the view of the sea and the saltee island was fantastic
