Saltee Chipper in Kilmore quay

Very over rated, just a normal fish and chips. Had high expectations but fish was dry and bland.

Very good. Expensive for a chipper but worth the few extra quid for the quality. Least greasy chipper I've ever had. Were told a big wait time and it landed 10 mins before expected.

I have been told that the chips from this chipper are great but i have to say i was not impressed the service was great the staff are polite and competent. The ice cream sundaes saved the food.

Back in Kilmore Quay after a while! Of course, we couldn't miss the legendary fish & chips at the small but cozy spot called Little Saltee. Everything was absolutely great.We ordered the haddock fish & chips, battered prawns, squid in panko breadcrumbs, onion rings, and extra chips.Haddock: Absolutely superb. Perfectly crispy on the outside, and the fish inside was incredibly moist.Battered prawns: Cooked very well.Squid in panko: This was the absolute highlight! It literally melted in the mouth. Cooked to absolute perfection.Chips & Sauces: The chips were good and the sauces were very tasty.Onion rings: The only downside – they seemed to be frozen, so I didn't really enjoy them.The staff was very pleasant and friendly. We waited for an hour, but it was totally worth it. I highly recommend this place! Thank you!

The portion was huge! The server was so kind to make me a half portion, but I still couldn't finish it! It was super crowded on the weekend, so I had to wait about an hour for my food.

The food and service in the Saltee are AMAZING. The portion sizes are huge. They are a perfect specimen of how traditional seaside fish and chips should be. There is a system, head into the take away on the left and order, let them know you're sitting in then go back out and into the cafe on the right and they serve the order to the counter. Must stop when in the area. I was there on a quiet Thursday evening in mid May and the atmosphere was lacking, but that's not to say during the weekends or busy summer evenings that it might not be more electric. Highly recommend!

Really delicious fish and chips tartar sauce is really good too. Staff are very friendly and professional. Would highly recommend.

I can honestly say that this has the best fish and chips. The food is so good.

Used to be be the best chippy in Ireland a few years ago but it now has too much of a demand that the quality of chips have gone very bad. They seem to be pre cooked and reheated. I picked up one chip, they were all stuck together and dry.. very disappointed. Its's all about quantity over quality these days 😞
