Saltee Chipper in Kilmore quay

We were down Easter Weekend we had fish and chips on the Sunday, the food is really tasty and big servings. Always enjoy anytime we go down I would recommend it to anyone staying down there or even driving through the town stop off it's worrh it

It is the best tartar sauce in the entire country! The chips are the run of the mill chips like you get anywhere and the portions are very generous. The fish is two portions of fish in one order which for me is an amazing surprise as I just like the fish! I do highly recommend this chipper as the outside eating area is very spacious overlooking the ocean with a lot of parking across the way.

I was here during the summer and we drove quite far to try this place. It was unbelievably busy when we were here but we were delighted that we finally managed to put in our order after having queued for 30 minutes. Upon ordering we were told that the waiting time for the food would be 2 hours. We spent some time around the quay and enjoyed the great weather. I wasn't too happy to wait so long for fish and chips but the time flew by as the area is so beautiful. The food was entirely worth the wait. The quality of the batter and the taste of the fresh fish is unmatched. I had the beer battered haddock and it was an insane portion of fish with perfect chips. Perhaps it may be best to visit when it's not so busy but even if it is, it is so busy for a good reason.

The best I've ever eaten and was our traditional early supper before taking the night ferry to Roscoff.
