The best restaurants in Wicklow

20/06/2025: This used to be one of the best indians around, it's been a couples months since we had it but my god this is literally the worst food we have had in years.. horrible. The so called "korma" was a tub of yogurt and the "butter chicken" wasn't butter chicken... 0/10 €35 for two meals of prison food... Shocking

06/06/2025: This place used to be my go-to, but tonight was so disappointing. The food (takeaway collection) was cold, dripping with oil and had no flavour. For the price we paid, we won't be returning.

22/09/2025: The desserts here were amazing and the cafe itself is really nice. Not all of the staff were friendly, one Irish staff member was quite rude, but Nasli was very helpful and welcoming, which made a big difference to our visit.

07/09/2025: I had a disappointing experience at Opera in Wicklow. The server (Marina, who mentioned she was new and that's ok ) but she didn’t know the specials or some of the ingredients in the dishes, and didn’t make any effort to find out. My friend and I both ordered the veggie bun (vegetables, halloumi, egg, and avocado) and I asked for bacon on the side. The order had to be confirmed multiple times, and when it arrived, only one was correct. Mine came missing both the egg and halloumi. just vegetables, avocado, and bacon. When I asked about this, I was told I had ordered the vegan bun instead, which was not the case. Even after the server admitted she might have input the order incorrectly, there was no real effort to resolve the issue or make me feel comfortable as a customer. They eventually brought me some halloumi, but it felt like I was being an inconvenience rather than the customer. At the end, I was told I received a discount, but the receipt only showed I wasn’t charged for the extra bacon , hardly a meaningful gesture considering the awkwardness of the whole experience. Overall, I left feeling unwelcome and disappointed, which is a shame as I was looking forward to trying this place.

10/09/2025: Absolutely awful. The only positive is that I made a fresh pair of shoes out of the rubbery, overcooked cod and batter.

12/08/2025: Do not go here and I mean it. The pictures of the food is completely fake. The food is bland. A small cup of ketchup is 2 euros and they dont even tell you sometimes. Its price comes from how much bland unsalted fries they put in your meal. Thanks for reading do not go here its horrible.

06/09/2025: Was in the cafe with my family having lunch and when getting served went to pay for myself and my partner's food for the blonde young waitress to tell me it was already paid for by another sitting at my table! A few minutes later when my relative went to the counter to ask for cutlery the same blonde girl raised her voice to say "can you tell that girl to pay for her food now" which the whole cafe heard I was mortified in front of everyone and really was made feel like a criminal for a total misunderstanding on her part which could have been dealt with more discreetly and privately instead of embarrassing their customers

15/07/2025: I am very fond of this cafe which has seats both upstairs and downstairs. The place is spotlessly clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. There is not a great deal of vegetarian or vegan food however, hence my reason for removing one star. Lately the upper part of the cafe has closed and the tables from there put into the downstairs part overcrowding the cafe downstairs. I no longer go there as the tables are too close together and people looking for cards etc. have to lean across the diners. It is a great pity that the upstairs section has been closed. However, the food is still good.

02/08/2025: The staff are friendly but the food is not prepared fron scratch. We ordered three distict dishes - jalfrezi, a bhuna & a tarka dhal which were all the same colour, texture and flavour. With not difference in taste except one dish had more chilli.

03/07/2025: Refused to allow me to pay by card over the phone, stating I must do so online. Only wanted to order tasty chips, had a minimum order policy so ended up ordering food I did not want. Price came to nearly 20 euro after adding service charge and delivery charge, on an item that initially cost 8 euro. Such a racket...

21/05/2025: I usually don’t write bad reviews but this was just horrible cheese was very thick and dry and not a splash of tomato sauce no flavour of the pizza
