1826 in Adare

The setting is really nice, service good, starter (scotch egg) delicious, dessert delicious,but €42 for a steak no better than one I'd pick up in lidl is an absolute scam. Its on me for not trusting my usual instinct which is to not get steak out (especially when it comes covered in pepper sauce - good steak shouldnt need it) but the place has a good reputation so I expected great things, especially at that price. It wasnt bad, a bit overdone but it was ok, but it felt like charging that is taking advantage of their good reputation. Spoiled a nice experience otherwise

The food was excellent and fresh. I am giving 4 star only because, in my opinion, charging 5 euros for such a small plate of bread is excessive…

Quality food and service, why can’t all restaurants be like this?!

Recently had the pleasure of visiting Elaine and Wades superb restaurant having travelled from Wicklow for my wifes birthday. While staying in Adare Manor we choose to eat at the 1826 because of a prior visit and experience. It truly is a wonderful experience at the 1826. Once again we enjoyed every minute of it, from the excellent staff and first class service, to the equisite food that Wade serves up. if you ever get the chance to visit do so and see for yourself how much of a gem this establishment is in the culinary world. Dined here with family on a Saturday night and cannot recommend it enough. The welcome was warm, the food was great (oysters, scampi, short rib, chicken, sole and cod) but most of all was the very visible hands on approach from the owners Wade and Elaine. Thank you for making my 1st visit to 1826 so memorable for all the right reasons!

visited 1826 today with my wife.. absolutely outstanding experience in this quaint converted thatched cottage on Adares main street,steeped in history. Julian our server was so friendly and professional... the food was exquisite,expertly cooked,and wine top class... the overall ambiance and service makes 1826 the most amazing restaurant in Adare... if you want an exceptional gastronomic experience visit 1826...highly recommended.

We had lovely dinner, nice hospitality… Could be the best option in Adare.

I really wanted to like this restaurant. It’s in a thatched cottage and is very charming. Sadly, while the food was okay, the maitre’d ( I assume that is what he was) was condescending and somewhat rude. We ordered two starters and a main dish to share. The waitress seemed fine with our order. A few minutes later, he came back to our table and said the main dish would be too hard for us to share because “ it comes in a bowl”. It was pasta. We said we thought we’d manage and he gave us a dirty look and walked off. A bus boy brought us an extra plate and we managed. Not the experience we had hoped for.
