Gorgeous meal, so fresh, both of us had fish, highly recommend

Ahernes is one of the very best seafood restaurants in Ireland. We have eaten here many times over the years and we have never had anything other than a top class meal there. Great atmosphere and very friendly and efficient service at all times.

On walking in the door I knew I was staying somewhere special. The warmth and welcoming was palpable even before I met Gaye and David. The first thing that struck me was quality, and attention to detail. David & Gay clearly put the best of everything into Ahernes, and it shows. From the charming bar / restaurant dining area to the enticing open fire residents lounge, you just want to relax and enjoy all that Ahernes has to offer. Having travelled 3 hours, I immediately felt relaxed and very much at home. My dining experience was excellent with beautifully served monkfish risotto. 101 years honing finely tuned family skills. What more can I say. I will be back, so I can share this quality experience with my family.

Without a doubt the best and most welcoming restaurant in Ireland to eat fish and seafood. They also have meats, cheeses...exploited by a family that loves their profession, their traditions,...if anyone goes, don't forget to order the homemade bread that they bake and the natural smoked salmon.

Have had the chowder here on numerous occasions and it has been consistently divine. Full of fish, super hot and still not heavy. Delicious. Not be beaten anywhere.

Got takeout meals from here. Absolutely excellent. Can order anything from their regular menu for takeout.

We had a really lovely one night stay in Ahearnes. The hospitality and the warm welcome along with the delicious food made our stay so enjoyable and memorable. We're looking forward to a return visit already.

Cosy. Gorgeous food. (We had the tasting menu. It was delicious) Welcoming. Friendly. Everything you want for a minibreak. Lovely beach walks. Lots of historic places in town. Good shops.
