21/05/2026: I visited Oriole and really enjoyed the experience. Great atmosphere, creative cocktails, and smooth live music that made the place feel special. The service was friendly and the vibe is perfect for a relaxed evening out.

17/05/2026: We had a great night. Started with cocktails upstairs and then dinner downstairs. The food was great and good value for money. We were there on a Saturday night and the band was excellent and the atmosphere was bumping. We were downstairs from 8:00-11.30 and caught the tail end of set one and all of set 2 & 3. We will be back.

03/05/2026: Great spot to taste traditional seafood dishes right next to the seaside. Fish and chips was good well buttered and fried. The atmosphere is really amazing and cozy with the characteristic presence of wood everywhere in the restaurant for a traditional seaside vibe. The only thing I might complain about is the service for the waiting time, that wasn’t the best I expected but still decent.

26/04/2026: Hi folks. Please go somewhere else than here.even a poor chipper would be way better. Won't bore ye about the unrealistic waiting time (busy 😴 1.47 hr/min ). Food was absolutely terrible. I had basic chicken meal. Veg was over cooked and tastles, mash had lumps of uncooked spuds in it , Chicken was tough but eat it as at that stage starving 🤨 plus meal barely warm.Anyway met owner , oh we never get complaints here .otherwords go away . I paid my bill never to return. Be aware.

25/04/2026: Well run bar / restaurant - does not disappoint - was pretty full on the Wednesday afternoon we called ( don't think they open Mon/The) Usual visit , Late April after a hour on the Boardwalk to and from the Quality Hotel end - food was fine if I exceptional this time - Service and Staff spot on and efficient - Always worth a stop off

19/04/2026: So if have kids don’t recommend this place as we have 4 year old all he wants or olives asked if pizza could have just cheese and olives and told no straight out and they have olives on menu so not that don’t have them I have been in catering 25 years and service here lads change staff or close doors as not even busy empty tables and told people behind Us table for 5 people if you want to come back in half hour now a lot of outside tables and inside empty train staff if you want to have a drink first we will get you a table not come back as they will not be back and this was 2.40pm Sunday lots empty tables

23/05/2026: I went here with a friend for a takeaway coffee and I could not recommend it more! The atmosphere was cosy, the staff were friendly and the wait for our drinks was nonexistent! There are many options for people who do not drink coffee also, for example chai lattes, so there's something for everyone here.

22/05/2026: Lovely staff here! Food is grand but could do with a few more veggie options. A suggestion: some salt and pepper for the tables!

31/05/2026: Stayed in Ahernes recently for 3 nights. We couldn’t be happier with the very friendly welcome from David and the team. The food was excellent catering for a coeliac without any issues. The home made bread was ‘the best ever’….. thanks Anne!, we left with the recipe! A super location for a relaxing break.

08/04/2026: We had a delicious dinner here. Great variety on the reasonably priced menu plus daily specials.Trio of fish & fish pie both top class.Service has cheerful,able to advise on allergens and efficent.Recommended.

05/05/2026: A lovely experience, the room was spotless, pristine and had a gorgeous view out onto the nearby beach. The staff were wonderful, especially in the bar, serving food and always friendly, helpful and professional. Overall, a lovely welcoming break.

19/03/2026: Had my son's Confirmation meal at the hotel recently. My husband and I had visited the hotel and met with Jessica weeks prior. She showed us around the different private rooms and we picked Raleighs, a small private room at the back of the hotel. It was for a group of 10 people. We had other venues lined up and even though the Walter came in more expensive we decided to pay that bit extra for a private room and a nice atmosphere. We paid our 100 deposit that day and we were looking forward to the event. Roll on to my son's special day, we arrived at the hotel and I went to let reception know that we had arrived. We were then told that another family were in the room we booked. Then, a few excuses from other staff members were that it was because we were a smaller group. Another excuse was that construction work was going on outside the window of the room and another one was that the breakfast stuff was put in there that morning. We ended up sitting out in the lobby on a makeshift table. We felt like we were sitting in a hallway. People were passing us and children from other parties were running around our table and at one stage went in underneath our table. My husband complained to the duty manager who seemed very dismissive. Later when my husband was up at the bar he was told the round had no charge. This was for 3 alcohol beverages and 3 soft drinks. We left feeling very disappointed and embarrassed in front of our guests. My son kept asking why we were sitting in the lobby when we had booked a private room. The next day, I emailed the hotel to complain and though apologetic at first, all we got was excuses. No offer of anything else or any other goodwill gesture. If you want to have a special family occasion, look elsewhere. I would not recommend this hotel.
