27/07/2025: Very nice moment at Cafe 108. Leah was very professional and kind. Everything was tasty and fresh. There is a nice patio area with excellent music. We recommend!

15/07/2025: Moby Dick’s in Youghal serves one of the best pints of Guinness around — smooth, perfectly poured, and just €5.70. The food is equally impressive: hearty, high-quality, and exactly what you want from a proper Irish pub. Add in the warm, historic atmosphere and genuinely friendly staff, and you’ve got a place that hits all the right notes. A must-visit if you’re in the area. Kevin and Breda are the wonderful owners who are the most kind and helpful people.

02/01/2025: Had high hopes for this place but was sadly let down by the service. The lady who took out order was absolutely lovely but two members of staff seemed very unhappy to be there, and made us feel very uncomfortable. Twice they asked a little boy to stop "banging" the chair despite the fact that he clearly wasn't annoying anyone but them. When a party came in late asking to be seated for lunch they very rude to them saying " lunch is over but I suppose this once we can serve you" Never been made to feel so uncomfortable in an establishment in my life. Couldn't wait to get out of there to be honest. Such a pity. Must do better, Nook

03/08/2025: Service has a lot to be desired. I asked for herbal tea, and waitress said they had berry tea but was unsure if it had caffeine. I ordered it with a glass of ice. I said if it had caffeine I would return it back. Black beard, a waiter with a grumpy face came out and slammed the teapot, cup and a glass of ice on the table causing a minor earthquake, and quickly vanished. I had a feeling he was angry at me. The time waiting for food was very lengthy and we almost canceled. Don't get the Nachos and food not great for price. Training in service etiquette is needed.

15/08/2025: Nice café. Given the void left over by the former Coffee Pot it's nice to have this café here. Good selection of goodies on offer, ample room and tables for a decent crowd and not the worst value either. I had a nice, decent scone (with butter, jam and cream too) and my daughter got this large strawberry and cream doughnut which was excellent.

22/06/2025: I had a breakfast sandwich which was a bit dissapointing, rasher very fatty, egg over cooked. Tea pot spouts were broken.

29/07/2025: Price's are awful. Staff is all good except for one small little specy red haired girl that was arguing with me for sitting outside. She seems too have no interest in her job.

06/07/2025: We had an absolute blast at JD’s Pub in Youghal! The music was fantastic, with a lively mix of classic rock and country from a singer that had everyone on their feet. The atmosphere was electric—busy but welcoming, with friendly locals and staff creating a real sense of craic. The pub’s spacious interior and cozy beer garden add to the vibe, and the message “There are no strangers here, just friends you haven’t met… Brendan Behan” truly reflects the warm, inclusive spirit where everybody feels like friends. Great drinks selection at reasonable prices, too. Highly recommend JD’s for good tunes and a vibrant, fun atmosphere!

05/05/2025: Disappointing interaction with management We visited with a group of friends and really enjoyed the atmosphere—bar staff were friendly and the live singer was a lovely touch. However, our experience was soured by an uncomfortable interaction with a member of the management team. While some of our group were dancing, two of us stayed at the table. A manager approached and told us we couldn’t take up a full table if the venue was busy. We were understanding and said we’d move our belongings to make space for others. What felt inappropriate was the follow-up comment implying we weren’t ordering enough drinks. I pointed to a full glass of wine infront of my friend and she laughed and said is that between the two of you. The tone felt unnecessarily harsh and made us feel unwelcome. Sadly, we chose to leave shortly after. It’s unfortunate, as the rest of the evening had been enjoyable up until that point.

29/07/2025: Just saw this places advertises itself here as "LGBTQ friendly". Which they clearly aren't, because their policy stated to my face earlier is basically they'll only touch your hair if you're a man. So no haircuts for queers. In reply to the owner below: That signage is evidently not clear enough, plus I was told during your lunch break to come back laterwith no mention of that policy. In addition, two of thise letters have nothing to do with sexual orientation. And breasts don't make a woman. Perhaps consider if a male cut is exactly what a client might seek and just ask. Even charge extra. Whatever. But a blanket policy based on what you think k is on somebody's pants is just bigotry, what harm could possibly be done by accepting an enthusiastic new customer. Hope you think on that.
