04/04/2024: We visted last week to say hi to Roberto,the owner ,as we had met him years ago in the Imperial hotel and we had a few drinks. I am not a big fan of chipper food generally and would only eat it 2 or 3 times a year as it can be disappointing ,but I must say everything here was really very good. The batterd cod was cooked perfectly. Flakey fresh and juicy inside with a crispy outer golden batter and tasty home made chips that were all obviously cooked in lovely clean oil or fat .We had onions rings also that were equally good. The kids had milk shakes and they were great. Staff were nice and pleasant even though we arrived just after the sit down part was closed but thankfully Roberto kindly let us sit there for our meal. When in Youghal or passing through you must go to The Roma grill and sample the lovely fresh Italian style chipper food in this well run traditional chip shop and restaurant. 18/02/2024: We got meat feast pizza and loaded fries. Was very tasty, pizza was lovely but was quite cold when we collected them. Lovely milkshakes

31/03/2024: Ate here Easter Sunday. Taighdh was nice as were the other staff but the food was all consistently bad €70 for 2adults and 3 kids. My son managed his nuggets, the garlic bread was fine. Aside from that the burger was really bad, spaghetti just had passata poured on. I got the calamari which tasted ok but was also served on tomato passata. I was sick 10 mins after leaving. I had researched and the good reviews made me pick it. Really disappointing and the worst food in a long time. Sorry

04/01/2024: Sadly we didn’t get to eat in here so can’t base my review from that but I can base it off how we were treated so rudely when asking for a table for 3 adults and 3 kids. The blonde employee with glasses seemed to be having a bad day and took it out on us! Once being abruptly told no the door was harshly slammed behind us! Very poor customer service if you ask me!

24/02/2024: I only put in 1 star because I had to. His delivery service was over 1 hour and customer service lacking and put us on hold for 10 minutes. Do not order from them just go to your local Tesco and buy a meal deal.

26/12/2023: Had a very nice meal here last week. The food was excellent and the portions were big. Very well priced also. Recommended

03/03/2024: *** I’m editing the post to say that Istanbul have given me a full refund on my order. This is not something that I asked for, I received a email to say order cancel so and money into the account. Credit due to the them for fixing the issue******** First and last time ordering. Order placed at 6:10pm order delivered at 7:55pm after online system saying 45 minutes to delivery. Drive said they were busy with a large party. Nearly 2 hours from ordering time. 5 very hungry children ready to go to bed at this stage.

26/10/2023: Hidden gem. When I pass youghal I have to call in. This place does the best value amazing food. Their coffee is pretty great too. Love it. Top marks

19/09/2023: The place itself is nice, The food wasn't great. Fishcake wasn't fresh, soup felt very sturchie. The staff were nice, but in general I won't visit again

21/03/2024: I've eaten here a number of times and it doesn't disappoint. The platters are just works of art. I have some interesting dietary requirements and when a group of us had a booking at Christmas they couldn't have been more helpful when I got in touch in advance to tell them about it. Everyone was happy with what they got.

28/01/2024: Well what a disgraceful welcome. We turned up at lunchtime after checking on the website that they were open. We walked through the open door only to be told " We are closed!" (The lights outside were on).The rude women siting in the bar doing her paprwork said there was a sign saying they were closed after I told her that the website said they were open. She was as cold as the interior and not at all hospitable. We left and looked for the sign on the door saying Closed. There wasn't any sign and the door was open. We went back inside to let the woman know there was no sign. She said "It's in the window". Sure enough there was a tiny blackboard sign in the bottom left hand corner of the window. We will not be returning to experience her hospitality.
