Good dinner in a tiny restaurant where everything is prepared with Irish ingredients. Tasting menu to travel through the tastes of West Ireland with Irish drink pairing. Crab, fish, duck, tomatoes, mash potatoes with mushrooms, see weeds, cheese with a fig, forest strawberry dessert, ice apple wine and so much more. However, the service is too intrusive and feels too commercial so we liked the food but not really the overall atmosphere. I don’t think I would go again

I went to Aniar to celebrate a milestone birthday. It was my second visit to Galway and I had heard about the restaurant before. I am an experienced foodie, but this was my first Michelin restaurant. It was Amazing!!! The ambiance was relaxing and the details were exquisitely attended to. Every dish was accompanied by custom plateware that enhanced the senses. The 24 dishes were each individual works of culinary art that left you yearning for more. Chef McMahon visited each table and when learning it was my birthday gave me an autographed copy of his beautiful book which is an ode to Irish cuisine. Thank you to the entire staff for this crowning moment of my birthday week celebration!!!!

This was one of my two favorite dining experiences ever. They paired two of the courses with poems. I was particularly excited about this as an English teacher but I think that anyone can appreciate how the poems enhanced understanding about how the food presented has gone on a journey to get to the plate, a journey that was full of human interaction and care. The resteraunt nurtured the idea that food doesn‘t appear without love and toil. This idea will help me consider the path my food takes as I eat going forward.

A truly incredible restaurant, timeless and where every ingredient is perfectly represented. The waiters were very kind and attentive, especially Arthur, who took the time to explain all the dishes to us in French to make our experience even more enjoyable.
The food was truly excellent; we were completely surprised and didn't regret it.
We recommend this restaurant without hesitation!

We didn't expect to find a Michelin starred restaurant in Galway. Aniar is quite as good as the Fat Duck or any similar restaurant in London or the home counties. Delicious tasting menu, attentive staff, eye-watering prices. Special occasion dining. 🙂

It's is a unique dining experience and well-worth the splurge. The food was amazing. Highly recommend the wine pairing. (But get a taxi if you do because it's a decent amount of wine throughout the meal.)
