Best meal of my life. The chefs' creativity shone through every dish. This is the type of restaurant where the food tells a story. The chefs' explanation of the ingredients and origins was such a welcome addition to each course. Truly an exciting experience. What a gem in such a beautiful city.

Simply incredible from start to finish. 24 course menu, which was thoughtfully done, beautifully presented and can’t really imagine it could have been any better! We skipped the oyster course as that’s not our thing, but did still try the oyster ice cream (which wasn’t our thing either!). Stunning setting too - it’s a wonderful place. Will certainly come back. Expensive (as we chose the premium wine option) but we think worth every bit of it. Thanks to all!

Overpriced and overrated for what you get. Some dishes were interesting given the local ingredients but most were over-salted, and the main course of pork was uninspiring and bland. Not worth a star.

Aniar got it right from the first bite! Imaginative creations from beautiful local produce, which stretches to exciting pairing options that include also exquisite Irish wines as well as nonalcoholic concoctions. Cosy, murky venue and most welcoming hospitality from all the team members. A clear winner!

The service felt a bit rushed, the seating was a little crowded, and the bill was quite steep. …but the food absolutely lived up to all expectations.

We loved our dining experience here. The creativity and intention behind every dish, decor, even down to the dish ware and cutlery - all highlighted regional Irish food and makers. Our server was amazing at giving us the lay of the land at the start of the meal. The chefs brought out each dish to explain in great detail what we were about to enjoy. A treat all around to experience this taste of Ireland and Irish culture. Best beet dish I have ever had. Venison tartare was absolutely stunning. Pork and fish main courses were top notch.

Dined here on a recent trip to Galway. Rich. Very thoughtfully composed menu, backed up by excellent dishes and fresh ingredients. Incredibly creative and brave. The setting, room with dynamic display walls and lighting all added to the richness of this culinary experience. Courses were exhaustive and consistently excellent. Offerings could benefit from some edits and consolidation. Several sauces and reductions were complex, layered and polished. Moments of foam and froth complimented by texture kept my culinary senses on the edge of the seat. The dinnerware is gorgeous, an extension of Irish craft and culture. The wine pairing was also well worth it. Overall, a rich and wonderful experience that I will remember for a long time. Highly recommended.

Monroe's

05/04/2026: Great vibe, great atmosphere, gets a bit crowded but most places do, very nice people.
04/04/2026: My friend and I stopped at Monroe's for lunch. We were blessed with the appearance of Remi, a friendly giant, who patrols the pub & check on guests (and their plates sometimes haha). The pub itself has a good atmosphere and very interesting signed posters on the ceiling! It was busy, but not chaotic busy. The staff was super friendly. We both ordered beef burgers, which were really really tasty, and of course, a pint of Guinness. We have also noticed the place hosts many gigs and other events, which is awesome!
