Lovely little room we booked for a few nights in the heart of Dingle. Right above the restaurant but it was closed this time of year. Easy access to all you need, good room, comfy bed. If we come back in season we'd definitely try the restaurant.

Damn, this restaurant used to be so good, not anymore. Four of us dined there last night, worst meal of our 2 weeks in Ireland. They used to have a warm, fun Irish vibe with amazing well thought out food. Now the staff do not have any Irish charm and are curt and bothered. The food is bland and uninspired, the vibe is sad. We will never go back.

Busy busy night in Dingle. We were able to get a two too at Ashes. What a great find! Found out it is six generations old. You felt that family owned business in the care we received with both food and service. The original owners can be very proud of the team I witnessed tonight. Hard working, honest, kind people. What a joy!!!

Stopped in here for lunch on a tour of Ireland and we are very glad we did. Service was great, food was delicious. We had the gambas, soup, mussels and chicken pasta. Would highly recommend, but make a reservation to ensure your table!

We have been coming to Dingle for over 20 years and Ashes is our go to place. The owner, Sinead, and the chef, Paul, have consistently maintained the highest standards on food, service and ambience. Of note are the chowder, prawns pil-pil, John Dory and steak. The wines have been carefully sourced and the Guinness is excellent. Highly recommended.

We tried to get a reservation with no luck. We showed up early and they gave us a table for one hour. The service, food and drinks were top notch. We had appetizers to share, as we had eaten a late lunch. We shared the fried goat cheese with beet purée, blue cheese, pear and pecan salad and the seafood chowder. They gave us bread which appeared to be homemade. Goodness everything was amazing. The chowder was the best we’ve had and the goat cheese is what dreams are made of. Get a reservation and go hungry.

Doyle's Seafood Bar

30/11/2025: I know people exaggerate when leaving a review but this is the best seafood I’ve ever eaten. Would recommend people select 3 small dishes per head so can try more of the menu. So so good.
24/11/2025: Had one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time at Doyle’s a few nights ago. Heard it was good, but didn’t realize how amazing the quality was and how reasonable the prices were. Such kind staff, and fresh flavor-blasting, unique dishes. Sticky toffee pudding knocked my socks off. A must-go in Dingle!

Solas Tapas & Wine Bar

13/12/2025: I am sorry to say that my friend and I were very disappointed with Solas as we had heard great things about it. We ordered about 7 dishes, 2 spuds and the sourdough (which was supermarket quality bread) and a bottle of wine, which was delicious to be fair. The croquettes were rock hard and when I finally managed to cut one open the filling was too runny. The oysters had too much roe on them, which was unnecessary and took away from the flavour of them. The scallop ceviche portion was tiny and worked out €9 a portion. They were very flavourless. The cured sardine was inedible so we left that one behind. The bill came to a whopping €258. Perhaps the prices were increased for Other Voices and perhaps we arrived at a bad time because it was very busy. We were reminded by the waitress on multiple occasions that we needed to leave by a certain time and that made us feel unwelcome and rushed. She seemed to be stressed. All over it was all style and no substance and I am happy to pay that amount of money when the food is excellent and this was not the case.
03/12/2025: Super experience in Solas over the weekend, having wanted to try for so long. Had a mix of small and medium plates with the standouts being the wagyu beef taco, crab tartlets and the oysters although all dishes were exceptional. Service was excellent and right on the mark in terms of pace, friendliness and helpfulness. A well oiled machine in the heart of Dingle.
