Absolutely brilliant! Great food, great service. Menu is varied and a very big selection of gluten free dishes, would highly recommend this place!

Really, really good food! Great, friendly service, and nice atmosphere. We went there twice for dinner in as many days.

Lovely food, nice staff. It was very noisy. Hard to have any kind of conversation without yelling. Need some acoustic baffling on the ceiling to help stop the noise bouncing around. The booth style seats are waaay too low for the tables. Felt like a toddler who can barely see over the table.

This place is fantastic and gets busy real quick. Highly recommend booking and come as soon as the doors open. Of all the gastro pubs in Castlebar, this one is in the top 2. If you haven't eaten here, you are missing out. The food and service here is fantastic. What we really loved about the place was ... Well pretty much everything. From the decor to the service to the food. The only slight criticism I have, which I do feel borderline about, for a number of reasons, is my steak was slightly expensive. Oh yes, and for some strange reason it's not open on Sundays. However I still cannot praise this place enough. From the warm welcome, to the excellent customer resolution, every part of the service is well represented on the walls. We had a slight chip in the wine glass, we brought it to their attention and without fuss, they fixed the problem, with deep apologies and smiles all round. It was such a minor issue easily missed, but handled perfectly, which really speaks volumes of the place. Wifey ordered the duck confit, not something I would normally consider. Duck tends to be powerful and greasy. But this was cooked perfectly, even the crispy skin was excellent. I was surprised, and wifey loved this. Especially the gravy, which seemed to be orange flavoured. Wifey thought it was infused with a Yorkshire relish sauce. Very tasty but couldn't put my finger on it, it reminded me of a balsamic and shallots gravy having a slight tang to it. Wifey is not normally fond of champ, but this one changed her mind. She loved it, I loved it, it was creamy, with nice little bites. I loved my ribeye steak and black tiger prawns. The vegetables added a nice greenness to the plate, lined up well and making it very pleasing to the eye. I love the vegetables broccoli... snowpeas and bak choi reminded me of Hong Kong. I didn't like the chips, just personal preference, so I wish I had ordered the champ instead. The pepper corn sauce was morish with a strong peppery kick. Cannot wait to come back and try more dishes on the menu. Next time we come back really hungry so we can have a starter too... Perhaps desert. Wifey and Hubby definitely recommend. And will be going back for more.

Cracking meal, and we could see why this bar has won so many awards, highly recommend booking and making a visit.

Attended this evening with 3 kids. It was perfect because the busy bustling of the bar drowned out their noise. The waiters were on the ball, attentive and great with the kids. Kids loved the pizza. I had Seabass cooked perfectly. Excellent range of gluten and dairy free options. The star for me was the chocolate torte with raspberry sorbet.

The food was fine but at that price point I certainly wouldn’t rave about it. We had the Indian chicken curry, which was ok but bland for my taste, and the steak which was cooked as requested but nothing special. Service felt more rushed than attentive. Quick to ask if we wanted another drink but even quicker to ask if the bill could be dropped down and the table taken back as quickly as possible. Highly doubt I’ll be back.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, tasty food that was well presented, and good beer. What more could you ask for?

Delicious food and ginormous portions. We both had the cod special and the cod was beautifully cooked and it was a big piece of fish. Friendly staff. Prawns and lamb skewers for starters were both very good. We'd go again.

Called in on Wednesday evening without a reservation. The manager was able to get us a table for four and we had an excellent meal. Found the staff very friendly and willing to engage and have a bit of banter. Good value food and good range of options. We ate again there on Friday night and will gladly return at a future date.
