Called to bar square on Sunday evening for food. I had the chicken supreme and it was delicious. My husband had a mexican dish znd it was equally as delicious. Compliments to the 2 guys who were cheffing on Sunday. Will be back.

Having visited a few times in the past, we were more than happy to take our visitors here. Mistake! Embarrassing! One of the Sunday lunch specials, Cod & Chips was not great. Undercooked fish, raw and "wet" batter. No crunch, just slop. This is supposed to be the star of the show...we ordered three of these and they were all similarly miserable. (Chips were great.) The cherry on the top was the staffs' response when notified. "We will advise the kitchen accordingly." When paying the bill, we again mentioned the issue with the fish/batter and were told that "the kitchen is addressing the matter." Great for the next customer, not so great for us!!

Tourists from England. Visited bar square at the recommendation of a taxi driver! Had a drink at paddy Mac’s next door first, lovely typical Irish bar, and Oat the barman was really friendly. then Popped to adjoining restaurant. It was a Thursday night and empty but Connor made us feel very welcome, lovely chatty guy who gave us lots of ideas for our trip. The decor is really modern and felt quite fancy :) but the food was a total surprise…. Absolutely amazing quality. Flavours were outstanding and we couldn’t believe our luck at stumbling on this little gem. Totally recommend this place!

Really nice place with absolutely brilliant crew. The food from the special Easter menu was nice and everything was quick and smooth. Really enjoyed our lunch there.

I regularly visit Ballina but my fault I haven't been aware of the Bar Square previously. I know now what I was missing, pleasant staff the minute you enter door, lovely menu , and up my alley , decent portions. Both myself and my better half left there happy and most importantly in today's culinary climate, full. On a bitter March day lovely and cosy too. Each dish was tasty and well presented. I'll certainly have it earmarked for future visits to Ballina.
