BR Bistro in Carrick-on-shannon

One of just a few eateries open on a Tuesday evening during a slightly off peak season. The BR Bistro is easily accessible for a wheelchair and the owner/floor manager was most accommodating and helpful. This is a family run business and the owners serve on a 'front line' system. They obviously take great pride in their business and the eating experience reflects their dedication. The steak selection for the evening was fillet and for me, cooked precisely to my liking. Declining the chips option I was served tastily prepared baby potatoes as a side dish. Perfect! My wife's Prawn dish c/w Spanish chorizo was equally enjoyed. The husband and wife team were charming, friendly and very helpful. Our bill came came to €44 per person including drinks which we consider good value these days for excellent fare and proper, personal service. We chose this restaurant for the evening partly because of the limited choice available on the off peak season. We wish now that we'd have found it sooner. We'll be back to Carrick on Shannon in the future though and the BR Bistro will be our number 1 choice when dining out.

Top class food, staff were excellent

Had such a lovely time dining here on a Saturday night. The owner of the restaurant was extremely friendly, attentive, and overall a great host. His paintings across the room and art gallery are truly breathtaking. Would love to come back & visit again!

After reading the reviews we both got the "steak" beef koftas. To our disappointment, it tasted like cheap processed burger meat. It was edible and we finished it all since we were hungry, but definitely not worth the 23€. Nice service and staff, but I can't call the food tasty.
