Ah guys, just book your table. We just got served dressed chips and a greedy burger, and the food is outstanding. We arrived a bit early but the staff accommodated us perfectly. Highly recommended place.

Had the slow cooked beef a few weeks ago it was delicious. A few weeks later I had the slow cooked beef as it was so good the last time but I was very disappointed on this occasion as the beef was just fatty and grisly in the middle. 7 of us had the same thing and we were all disappointed so we'll try something else the next time.

My experience with the food was great, however the person who served us was extremely rude. We opened the parasol and he asked us to close it because of the wind, which was fine. However, we explained that I couldn't talk to my friend because she was in front of me, and an employee went and removed it. Then this older man came to our table and said we couldn't remove it... we explained the situation and he rudely said we couldn't and angrily put the parasol back. It was ridiculous!

Great place to eat and drink during summer. I got a really good burger with Irish beef (17 euro), potato and leak soup (7 euro) and a pint of Moretti ( 7 euro approximately). Be prepared to wait for your food a little longer during summer since it is packed. But it worth it during a sunny day.

The food is great! Reasonably priced, and best of all, they have garlic-free options! I loved it; there's a wide variety of food. I highly recommend it!

I love this place. It's one of very few places where the food is consistently of very high quality. It's tasty and fresh, and the portions are perfect. Great value for money. You are my local even though I live in Celbridge.

09/09/2026: We happened to eat at The Roost for lunch one day during our holiday in Ireland. The welcome, service, and food were delicious. The vegetarian burger and its sides were excellent! The waitress was very friendly (and I'm not just saying that because she's French 😉).

13/08/2026: Went there hungry and hot, needed a good meal and a cold drink... they didn't disappoint! Was recommended this Gastrobar by a local, said the food would be good and the drinks cold, they were not lying. The portion size was decent and the prices really reasonable. Had a McMahons special with ribs and wings, and a pint of cider... my favourite cider here in Ireland when I visit! Photos dont really do it justice but it was fabulous all round. Look forward to the winter time when I visit again and see it more cosy and enjoy the sights and sounds of Maynooth! Lovely location but recommend taking an uber into town rather than parking as there is a 1hr limit. Good value for money and lovely meal.
