Bushe's in Baltimore

23/06/2025: We had a rather mixed experience for dinner. When making the booking I had requested a table around 7pm but was told there was a big group coming in at that time and we could only be accommodated at 6pm. When we arrived we were the only people in the restaurant and when we left it was still very empty. We were seated in a section of the restaurant on our own which meant the atmosphere was unfortunately very lacking. The food was good but not fantastic in my opinion; the vegetables in particular were over cooked and mushy (courgettes and peppers) and the potatoes were just ok. There's beautiful fresh produce in West Cork, particularly in summer, and it was shame not to see this reflected on the plates. The fish and venison which we had were very nice. The location and grounds are beautiful.

28/05/2025: We were looking for lunch and came across Rolf's. It's located a little above the town of Baltimore, but well signposted. There's a large parking lot. We ordered the breaded chicken schnitzel with salad and rosemary potatoes for lunch. What can I say? The food was amazing. The schnitzel wasn't dry, topped with a fantastic breading. The salad and dressing were simply fantastic. The potatoes were perfect. And the facility we saw was very well-maintained and clean. The service was excellent, very attentive and friendly.
