There's nothing like a pint outside here on a summer's day, or a lovely pint by the fire in winter time. Lovely pub, great bar staff.

Nice pub, original cuisine (smoked mackerel fillet sandwiches), good service. Attentive waiters, good Irish atmosphere, even as a foreigner, the conversation starts very quickly.

We had lunch at Bushe's after a morning in Baltimore and tried the open crab sandwich, delicious! We also ordered the soup of the day, a very tasty potato soup.

Algiers Inn

19/10/2025: An atmospheric restaurant in the city center. Its name refers to a historic event in 1631, when pirates from Algiers invaded the town and kidnapped all the inhabitants. Only two people returned from captivity. The menu is traditional, yet enhanced with African spices. The decor evokes Arab and Berber culture. A unique history and a unique place. I highly recommend it.
28/09/2025: The Algiers is a wonderful place for a delicious supper or a great brunch. If you’re not hungry it does a great pint.

01/11/2025: We were very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The reception is small and old but the corridors and room were beautifully renovated and decorated. The bed is comfy, the room airy and the bathroom spotless. We went to get coffee the next morning an hour after breakfast was finished but were offered a freshly cooked breakfast if we wanted it. We did order a small Irish breakfast and a scrambled eggs on toast, delicious and perfectly cooked. This is a gem in west Cork and definitely somewhere we will return to. Thank you.
