• Falling standards • Lack of attention to details • Overpriced Have stayed here quite a few times over the last few years and standards are falling. This time (November 2025) we were given room 300 "in the new part of the hotel". The room was freezing. The heating was not working. We were then given room 207 on the second floor, quite a trek from reception. There is no lift. Room 207 is ok, a bit dated and tired and with some unrepaired ceiling damage. The most noticeable feature was the tiny TV in the corner (photo). Many cars have larger display screens. The heating in the room was just barely warm enough but cannot be adjusted. The tissue box in the bathroom had just one tissue in it. The anti-slip shower mat could be pre-war. The tap water in undrinkable; a bottle of water in the room would be a nice touch and common in similarly priced hotels, but not here. There were 5 pillows in the room, which sleeps 3 people. Not enough for some. At least the bed was comfortable and we slept well. Breakfast was generous but mediocre quality. The bacon, in particular, was dried out. Overall, it's not a bad place to stay but overpriced for what you get. It's failings stem from it being an old building and poorly trained, but pleasant, staff.

Lovely hotel, centrally located. Staff were very friendly & helpful. As it's in the centre of the town can be a bit noisy in the rooms with the windows open. This didn't take from the overall appeal of the hotel. Cahir is a lovely town with some lovely walks by the river & the castle, the Swiss House is worth a visit too

Great place to stay. Was a late minute decision stay there as we were heading to Cork from louth. Glad we did. The food was first class and the staff were all extremely helpful and nice. Definitely stay again.

Always a great pleasure to be. For business it is centrally located with a time saving efficient staff. For holidays it is close to all nice spots in Ireland. The food is very good, the bar is nice and the beds give you a relaxing deep sleep. The staff is friendly and helpful. Stayed there many times now and it was never disapointing.

Went there to celebrate a family party, Beautiful venue with excellent food ,

We went to the restaurant and it was very good food! It got busy around 7pm. The bar is very good too. You can eat in the bar area or library. Desert was extraordinary too.

Our stay here was lovely. Everyone was genuinely caring and helpful. We wanted to say a special thank-you to Violetta for taking such good care of us! Highly recommend!
