Caprice in Galway

Had some great food here with the family, the croquettes were great and the duck main was really nice, highly recommended, only drawback, the toilets could have been a little cleaner, otherwise a great location and service.

Wonderful service and delicious meal! The owner/chef was lovely and accommodating. We will be back!

We had brunch, 2 x egg benedict, bacon n paprika cubed potatoes. Served on a toasted muffin????? which turned out to be brioche n not what I'd call toasted. More heated. It was nice but not a muffin. The bacon was delish. The potatoes were nice. The hollandaise sauce is very lacking, and what we got had being dried up under the grill. The hollandaise should have been put on last minute, and it wasn't flavoursome. Was it tasted while being made. 🤔🤔This should be the star of the dish. There is serious room for improvement in this classis dish where the classic elements are not being reached. Because of the lack of sauce, the dish was dry to eat. I found the menus pretentious while reading it and thought, why don't they keep it simple? I'm glad I didn't try anything else if a classic dish can't be done right. The staff were lovely, but bringing out and clearing food and drinks in dribs and drabs isn't how it should be done. It is disruptive and unnecessary. They need to get the basic service techniques right. There was no atmosphere but a great space to create some. I had to ask to be moved to another table as we were seated beside the stairs case with a large open space above where a cold draft flowed down from. The coffee is lovely but could be significantly hotter.

My husband and I had breakfast here for the first time a few days ago. My husband had the pancakes which looked amazing & he loved them. Honestly the best vegetarian breakfast I have had anywhere. The reason I only gave four stars is I had asked the waiter specifically to make sure the egg was well done which she seemed fine with. When my food arrived the egg was so runny I had to move the rest of my food away from it as I couldn’t eat it & didn’t want the rest of the food spoiled by it. When the waiter asked a few mins later if everything was alright I said everything but the egg was lovely but she just smiled a walked away I don’t think she had much English so I think she didn’t understand. Then when I went to pay their was items on the bill that we didn’t have & although they sorted it the male staff were rude about it and no apology.

The pancakes are delicious. Have been here a number of times, never disappointed. The staff are very friendly and the food comes very quickly! This place is not small dog friendly therefore if you take the pup for a walk you cant stop and grab some food.

Nice restaurant serving breakfast lunch and dinner near St Nicolas church. Nice and modern bright interior (try to sit upstairs) with an Italian inspired cross over kitchen. We had dinner and really enjoyed our meals, service was polite and friendly too. Just beware that they close at 10pm even on weekends and that the food is pricey - not so many other places calling more than 19€ for a pizza diavolo and nearly seven for a tiny (!) rake salad.

We had a large staff party brunch here today.. it was excellent!! Quality ingredients, attentive service, great atmosphere. We were all super impressed. Each plate was prepared with a lot of care, each bite was delicious. 10/10

Do not miss this Restaurant. From the moment we were greeted and seated We were treated to one my best nights out in a restaurant ever . Our host Vicky had such a warm genuine way that we felt like we were regulars even though it was our first time there . Recommended to me from a friend of mine . Thank you for the experience. Everything was perfect . ( I’d the Croquettes starter and Sirloin Steak delicious !!!! ) I will be booking CAPRICE first and then the hotel next trip to Galway because it was highlight of our 3 night stay .
