Cassidy's Restaurant in Tralee

Its a small place and when full youre hearing everything from the next table which is ok if you like that type of thing. The atmosphere is quite nice with a long stemmed candle on each table. Toilets were upstairs but maybe there was an accessible toilet downstairs not sure. Food was delicious but the main portions were smaller than I'd expect. My piece of fish was quite thin over a bed of potatoes to bulk it out but it was scrumptious Veg were delicious. My brownie was ok. Didn't taste like it was made that day. Possibly defrosted and warmed up? If a restaurant offers brownies I believe they should be fresh. My husband got the wrong main, he ordered from one menu but got something simular from the smaller menu. Rather than us eating separately while he waited for a replacement he just plowed on. His portion could have done with being at least another quarter in size. Very relaxed and professional staff. Downstairs was busy but we didnt wait excessively long for our orders.

A great find, we ate very well. It's just a shame that the drinks weren't the same. I ordered orange juice and was served some kind of soda or Oasis-type drink that didn't resemble orange juice at all. Our two aperitifs were served in pre-filled glasses. It was impossible to know what we were drinking. This approach was truly disappointing in a restaurant where the rest of the meal was fine. It might be acceptable in a snack bar or similar establishment, but not in this type of place. Needs improvement.

Traditional Irish restaurant. Good food and terrific service. Tables are a little close together, making for a cosy experience.

Delicious food - poor service We spontaneously dropped by on a Saturday evening and managed to get a table for two. Unfortunately, it seemed to be the forgotten table. The server was initially very friendly and gave us the menus. However, when we took an extra minute for our drinks, we were completely forgotten and somehow didn't even have a drinks menu. The server became very impatient when we asked what drinks were available. We were then promised water, which we never received... after asking twice, still nothing. The guests at the next table, who arrived after us, received their water immediately, but even they didn't notice that we were still missing it. Overall, we were simply forgotten in the corner. The food was very tasty. We had the carbonara - highly recommended. Clearing the table also took a very long time, and we weren't asked again if we wanted anything else. The payment process was also very disorganized, and we had to inform two waitresses. Unfortunately, there was no communication whatsoever, and we weren't treated kindly. We understand that Saturday evenings are busy, but then we would also expect some understanding for our needs, which sadly wasn't the case... They showed us no friendliness whatsoever... A real shame, as it's actually a very nice place with good food.

Very busy on a Saturday night, but they fit us in, and the staff were friendly and hard-working. If this were a review of the atmosphere and people alone, it would be five star, but it ultimately comes down to the food, and the treatment of husband's surf and turf was just unforgivable. He requested med-rare on the fillet, and it was so overcooked it was actually white inside in places. Very dry. Languistine the same. 39.99 for the surf and turf - very reasonable price - would have paid more had it been well prepared. Multiple vegetarian options, which was appreciated, and my ravioli was fine. Dessert was good (fruit crumble). About 2.2 hours total service. About 40 minutes between starter (goat cheese - good) and mains.

This place is really delicious. I stayed in this town for two days, and I chose this place for dinner for both days.
