Cassidy's Restaurant in Tralee

Very odd place. Not any real theme to the cuisine or the restaurant. Had a few Irish chicken dishes, a couple Thai selections and a few Italian selections. Service was friendly but just so so. We entered at what should have been a busy dinner time and the place was dead. After ordering, I can understand why. Long wait to get food and there was literally no one else in the building when we ordered. Wife ordered 2 appetizers, fried brie and seafood chowder. Both were good but nothing special. I had the roasted Monk fish wrapped in Ham w/muscles and prawn. Should have been called shrimp instead, they were very small as were the muscles. It was OK but overcooked. Rubbery and chewy. The decor was very chaotic as well. Just random oddities like a picture of Lyndon B Johnson with some unrecognizable people, an Indian Lamp, table cloths with French flur-de-lis. Just nothing fit together. I would not recommend this establishment. Enter at your own risk. You've been warned.

I am not really sure about traditional irish but I don't think this is it. I had the seafood chowder and he had the monk fish. There was no real theme to the menu, some irish steaks, Thai food.... the inside is decorated worldly with no real irish theme. The tablecloths have Fleur De lis so I was a little stumped.

Another hidden gem in Tralee. Had a booking for 7.15 for 6 people. Had a great table with loads of room. This place was buzzing with very friendly servers and great banter. Menu was a la carte as well as a three course special menu. Loads of choice and very reasonably priced. Had the deep fried mushrooms in a tempura batter, followed by beef stir fry and rice. Washed down with great Guinness. For dessert, had apple and blue berry crumble and a nice cappuccino. Other food highlights were chowder, hake and chicken dish as well as a lovely selection of desserts all made on site. The big surprise was the bill!. Amazing value.

The service was great, and we had no issues with any part of our visit. From the wine to the meals and even the dessert, everything was delicious. The Irish coffee at the end of the evening was well-made.

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. Our waitress Olga was absolutely fantastic—so positive, friendly, and professional. Her lovely personality really stood out and made us feel welcome from start to finish. The service was brilliant and truly enhanced the whole visit. The food was also very nice. We’ll definitely be back.

WONDERFUL food and service; we are a family of four visiting from the US and we stumbled into Cassidy’s while looking for a spot to eat dinner. Geraldine took such great care of us and we felt very welcome. Food was fantastic - especially the carbonara (which was Italian approved). The Christmas decorations are well done too, they added to the warm atmosphere and created a magical evening!

Have been there lots of times and the food is always really good. Staff are lovely. Centrally located
