The most gorgeous building the outside was decorated with lights for Christmas and the decoration inside is so nice. A lot of seating and well spaced out. Service was really good and fast. I had the beef and prawn stir fry and the portion size was very big. There was definitely no room for dessert afterwards. I will definitely visit here again.

We had Sunday lunch during our trip to Skibbereen. I will start with the food which was good, chicken wings and deep fried brie for starters were good. The burger my husband said was excellent. I had the sweet and sour which was nice however it is spicy which I wasn't expecting from such a dish and as I have stomach issues it wasn't ideal and I think it should state that there is chilli in it as I would have ordered something else. The chips were delicious. Desserts were delicious and good portions. We had a cocktail each, which was very nice. With that being said, everything seemed to be on a go slow or rushed, we enjoy a bit of time between courses but multiple times our empty plates were passed by the staff who were run off their feet, ordering felt rushed and like questions on the menu were delaying them but every server was clearly trying their best. As an example we ordered our food and I asked what sort of cocktails they had, the server handed me a menu to look through but never came back for our drink order so we ask the server who brought our starters, who did take our drink order but seemed taken aback at this. The severs kept changing as well, we ordered food and drinks from 3 different people and an additional 2 cleared some of our plates so it was a bit chaotic. When we arrived, I think it was the manager seating people, there was a party ahead of us who were asked to wait to the side for their table and we were left floating at the door for several minutes with no explanation but were seated quickly once he came back and we said we had a booking. We were seated upstairs and I wasn't crazy about the table, it was right beside where the cutlery is stored and plates are left as service is cleared so it just felt a little cramped for my liking. With all of that being said, we left with full bellies. The food was good, but as with other reviews, I would agree a bit pricy for what you get, the options are fairly standard and nothing you wouldn't get elsewhere for a lower price (we had 3 courses each & 1 cocktail for €120).

We happened across this spot as we were passing through. Skibbereen is a charming town (and name!) and, on top of that, the idea of a converted church seemed perfect for lunch. Our host and the wait staff were friendly, and the lunch outstanding. I had the smoked salmon salad, and the chef went above and beyond to include a nice variety of elements with the greens; the Marie Rose sauce was a perfect touch. Another of our party pronounced the soup and bread to be out of this world. There are so many things on the menu that looked tempting; we hope to be back some day!

Leslie's Diner

26/06/2024: Very tasty fish and chips! No finished goods, everything fresh. Other pubs or restaurants can get involved. Only the ambience is not nice, even for a snack bar. The owner is very friendly!
