24/06/2026: This book shop is pure holiday! I can absolutely recommend it.
Greeted with a warm welcome u get well collected books. From historic over romantic to cooking books. There is definitely one book fitting to your taste.! You can read in store in the cozy little back yard if you want! I bought a BOSH! cookbook.
There are also delicious different kind of coffees. I had the flat white, my friend a cappuccino. Both super good.
In addition we both had a piece of the self made cherry cake. It was still warm so double delicious.
If you're in town and care about your well being... Step in!

If u looking for some Antiquity books.. go for it.

22/06/2026: Was recommended that I use Fields as a supplier for a wedding, and they were absolutely perfect. Special thank you to Mareid and Kevin for being exceptionally friendly, great hosts and fantastic at their jobs. Made our lives a lot easier, and they did it while having big smiles on their faces. Cannot recommend highly enough.
21/06/2026: When I'm trying to enter the bathroom when I needed and then some of the day when I see someone is cleaning and the lady gets mad and rude for some reason I don't know why? Is everyone always rude when cleaning the toilet? I hate to see these stupid people cleaning bathroom in front of me.

18/07/2026: I stopped in here the last evening not expecting much but was very surprised by the quality of the food. The burgers are freshly made not from frozen. Quality ingredients and the chips are delicious too. Very reasonably priced. Friendly staff and a huge menu to choose from but not overwhelming. Highly recommend visiting here if visiting Skib.

29/10/2025: A very cozy cafe, I really liked the food, the sandwich was not dry, lots of cheese, very clean, the staff is top notch, polite and friendly, the food is the best.

Food was very basic. It’s says the sandwiches etc come with tortilla chips-there was 3 on the side of the plate. Side salad was very fresh though. The bagel I ordered was missing toppings and was 80% relish with a small amount of goats cheese. Grand if you just want something very basic and quick.

02/04/2026: Five stars well deserved, excellent food and super friendly staff, most important they are listening customers. Must try best sausage rolls in town, and chicken chorizo toasted sandwich it should be awarded to the sandwich of the year.
09/03/2026: Wow. I wish Dublin had more sandwich shops of this calibre. I ordered the chicken avocado sandwich, but toasted, even though they say it’s best eaten cold. It was sensational! The bread was light and crunchy, with a beautiful texture. The filling was melted, a bit creamy, so delicious, and warm all the way through. It was generously portioned but not overly large.
They obviously really care about their sandwiches and the quality of their ingredients. It was a minor triumph. The other sandwiches, with melted cheese, beef, etc., also looked so tasty. The staff were lovely too, and all for about 8 euro! Bargain! Great job, guys. Bravo!

18/12/2025: Came in late after a long day of travelling and arrived in near closing time. They were very accommodating to me and my partner, we had accommodation already sorted elsewhere but we had some food here and it was deadly. Owners very friendly and recommend us sights to see. Will be back when we visit skibbereen again.

16/06/2026: Came for a brunch on a Tuesday in June. Lovely staff, fab food. Moderately busy,(maybe a third full at 11am). Enjoyed a lovely cup of badger and dodo coffee and a really delicious huevos rancheros. If you would like to sit outside there is a small street front seating area and a larger outside area at the back near the river. The day I visited there was no view of the river as the glass on the riverbank needs a good clean and the restaurant probably has no control over this as it's outside of their property. It's a pity as it's a lovely view in the photos I have seen online and adds to the restaurants charm. Highly recommend though.
26/05/2026: We sat on the terrace overlooking the river, in the shade. The food was delicious and the service friendly. Vegetarian and vegan options are available.

28/04/2026: Always looking for fine trad sessions I came in with a little dog inside my bag asking if they allow dogs in the bar. They looked at me as I was an alien and I felt uncomfortable. You can say no with a smile and that's fine, I respect some places simply don't want dogs in, but really, what's in these places that they can't say "sorry we don't allow dogs" kindly but they make you feel like you're insane to even try? there are plenty of places to go in the area if you want to listen trad music with your dog. Don't miss De Barra in Clonakilty or the pubs in Goleen.
Btw, I even wrote an email days prior asking if they would allow me and my dog in for a trad session and never got a response, it would have avoided me the trip.

03/05/2026: Sensational food, brilliant service. A life saver at 1am in the morning. Perfectly cooked rice, succulent chicken balls, 4 in 1s out of this world. I cannot rate this place high enough. Staff brilliant and full of care.
