The Restaurant at Liss Ard in Skibbereen

We absolutely loved our stay at Liss Ard at Easter. We took our dog with us and were in a dog friendly room in the lake house. The room was very nice and it had a fabulous bathroom. The gardens around the Lakehouse were lovely and the views amazing. There are loads of walks to do within the grounds and the location means there’s plenty to do when you leave the estate too. The staff are so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. A couple of small issues we found: The walkways to and from the lakehouse and the Manor House are not lit the whole way which is disappointing. But The staff offer to drive you in the buggy if you need it. There should be a bin outside around the dog friendly rooms in the lake house. There is one in the garden rooms of the Manor House. The restaurant is expensive for what you get and the menu limited! The drinks are also not cheap with the cheapest bottle of red wine being €45! We would definitely return and I wish there were more dog friendly places like this in Ireland!

Very beautiful, like in a museum

From start to finish every effort was made to make our stay memorable. Staff were helpful, courteous, pleasant and efficient. Our room was beautiful with a gorgeous view of the lake. The restaurant delivered a meal that was second to none. I particularly enjoyed the clever dessert sky garden. Well done all . We will be back

We visited this beautiful place today for lunch. From the moment we walked into reception we were welcomed . Food was gorgeous, & the manager couldn’t have been more attentive! Would highly recommend a visit .

Visiting Liss Ard Estate was an experience beyond compare. From the moment I arrived, I was enveloped in the tranquility and natural beauty that defines this remarkable property. The accommodations at Liss Ard Estate are nothing short of extraordinary. My room was a perfect blend of contemporary luxury and classic elegance, with panoramic view of the estate's sprawling grounds. Every detail, from the plush furnishings to the thoughtfully curated artwork, spoke to the estate's commitment to providing a truly exceptional stay. The dining experience at Liss Ard Estate surpassed my highest expectations. Each meal was a celebration of local flavors and culinary artistry, beautifully presented and expertly prepared. The commitment to using fresh, seasonal ingredients from the estate's gardens and local producers was evident in every dish, and the attentive service complemented the outstanding cuisine perfectly.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Liss Ard. The staff were welcoming and friendly. We were given a room upgrade on arrival which was very nice. We were very happy with everything about the holel including the the hotel grounds, garden walks, the Sky Garden and the walk around the edge of the lake which was spectacular. We enjoyed breakfast which was delicious and before our departure we met the new Manager of the Hotel who was very pleasant and interesting. We are sure to return for another visit in the near future.

We arrived on the Saturday to a lovely warm welcome and were later greeted by the owner (who subsequently kindly upgraded us). The main house and the grounds are very relaxing and the hotel uses its natural assets (lakes & woodlands) very well. The Spa treatments were excellent and dinner and drinks served with calm assurance.

Myself and my daughter stayed in your beautiful estate. Anna looked after us from the moment I booked and right through our stay,which was originally booked for one night but we had to extend to full weekend as we didnt want to leave!!.Dinner,cocktails,treatments all carried out professionally and with such a high standard.Thank you Anna and all your colleagues for making our stay truly delightful.Kind regards and I hope to stay with you again.Caroline and Taylor-Rose Foley
