Very good environment and excellent service and staff. Great location in the town and fair price for food an pints. The food was excellent. We had a great time at this place. I have visited this place again in 01aug26 and again the experience was fantastic. Adding new pictures from this new visit in a lovely sunny day. We took a place outside and it was great! ๐ŸŒž

Went here with my friends yesterday for dinner. We went in got greeted kindly by gerard and he sorted us with a table straight away. Two young girls were serving our table they were amazing at their jobs, service with a smile and could tell they genuinely cared. The food was absolutely stunning, I highly recommend the battered cod and chips. I will definitely be back. Thank you to Gerard for looking after us.

Porter House

22/10/2026: Creamy pint of Beamish here but a bit overpriced. Nonetheless, delighted to see it on tap instead of been forced fed the ubiquitous Guinness. Murphy's also on tap here which I have to say is excellent too when trying it on a previous visit prior to Beamish being installed. Keep the Beamish flowing though, the Rolls Royce of stout. Perhaps the Porterhouse should consider placing the Beamish tap closer to the front door. The tap is right down the end of the bar. Easy to miss.

24/10/2026: Wifey and Hubby have been here twice. A pub grub type of place that has lots of offer with a very high standards on quality. Wifey tried the fish and chips and the creamy pasta the other visit. Personally I didn't rate the creamy pasta, not that it was nice, just not my type of dish. The fish and chips was good though. Hubby had the chicken burger and lamb shank. And would Definitely recommend the lamb shank any day. The burger was good too, soft meat with a nice battered crisp, the way a chicken burger should be. For some reason we have walked by many a times, Hubby has been eager to always try. Wifey had visited many years ago, so I ma glad we finally walked through the doors. Good food, great drinks and friendly service... We recommend.
