Highly recommended! Food sublime!! Service friendly and personal!!
After climbing Croagh Patrick we went into Westport, looking for a place for lunch. Went into The West Bar. Lovely atmosphere. Bright and cheerful. Food was really good. We had the Chicken and Stuffing Panini which was like a Christmas dinner in a roll and it came with a small gravy bowl. We also had a steak sandwich which came with peppercorn sauce and tasty really good. Had a glass of Coke and a Guinness and got change from €50. Menu had large selection. Staff were friendly and polite. Highly recommend. Would definitely return.

Martin, what can I say, you and your staff were absolutely brilliant! We had the BEST time at your pub for our Day 2. You were so professional, efficient, on the ball, and it was great to also have your son behind the bar at our day 2. So so welcoming, easy going, we felt at home from the start. The food - well it was devoured, absolutely gorgeous! I have to say, it meant the world to me to have you call the day before the wedding to wish us good luck and to tell us not to worry about day 2. You just don't get this service anywhere else and I'm so happy we chose you for our day 2. The best memories we have are thanks to you. God bless and hope to see you soon xx

This was exactly the sort of place you hope to stumble across on a road trip when the weather has other ideas. It was cold, a bit rainy, and we were travelling with another family and three children between us, so by the time we arrived, a warm table and a good lunch was much needed.
Thankfully, this place had everything we needed. It felt like a little haven, with lovely service, a cosy atmosphere, and simple food done really well.
The seafood chowder was one of the best I’ve had, rich, comforting and full of flavour without being heavy. The monkfish on the menu of the day was also lovely, properly cooked and generous enough to feel like a treat on a grey afternoon. The children were equally happy, which is never something to take for granted, finding their favourites in burgers and fish and chips, and every plate that came out was genuinely delicious.
By the end of lunch, everyone was warm, full, and in much better spirits than when we came in. Honestly, we could not have asked for more.
A really lovely stop, and one I’d happily recommend to families passing through Westport looking for somewhere welcoming, relaxed, and seriously good for lunch.

A typical Irish restaurant with classic beef dishes, as well as pasta and burgers. Good service. Prices are reasonable for Irish cuisine (main courses range from €18 to €22). The beef stew with Guinness is highly recommended. A pint of Guinness is €7.

Had a delicious Sunday lunch in the West this week with the family. Fast friendly service and the food was good quality and fairly priced. Portion sizes were very generous and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Will be back!
