The West in Westport

Delicious food, highly recommended! However, it's very popular, so you might have to wait for a table.

Went on a work end of summer day out, had the West booked for a party of 12. Seats were reserved for us, staff were attentive & friendly. The food was fantastic, everyone’s dish was lovely and everyone was delighted with their choices which is rare in a group of 12. The Lamb Shank was superb, as was the chowder, steak, beef, lasagne, bacon & cabbage, curry. Such a choice. The desserts were equally as good. Thank you for making us feel so welcome and filling our bellies. We will be back 👏👏

Very nice Chowder, mussels cooked to perfection and blade of beef melt in the mouth. Good menu selection. Staff friendly. Reasonable prices.

Visited The West on a whim early Saturday evening in late August. We hadn't planned on eating, but the warm atmosphere and a few open seats in the bright, east-facing conservatory drew us right in. We were pleasantly surprised by how sharp and fast the service was, especially for a busy weekend. The menu sticks to classic Western staples—seafood chowder, chicken wings, Caesar salad, burgers—so there’s plenty of choice for everyone. Since our main goal was catching up with old friends over a few drinks, we kept it light and ordered starter portions of the chowder and Caesar salad. Both were excellent, and the portions were remarkably generous. A great local spot for a relaxed bite and a catch-up. Highly recommended!

Had a hard beginning with this place. Went early but the place was already busy. One of the waitress gave me a menu and told me to sit at the bar. I was totally okay with having food with other solo people. She never went back to take my order. Thank you so much at the bartender who took my order after 20mn of me trying to catch the waitress attention. He made the experience great, had a very nice chat with an older gentleman about Croagh Patrick, hiking and solo travel. The guinness stew and the pint was worth it. Quick service once the bartender took it in his own hands. Thank you!!

4 of us went for dinner and as always in The West we had great food, great service and great value

Visited here multiple times during our stay in Westport. Everything we tried on the menu was excellent, the beer was cold, good service. Steady busy but not packed and we never had issues getting a table. Will definitely go back when in the area.

Ate here 3 times over the weekend. Staff are friendly and attentive, service is quick, and the food is absolutely delicious. I will be going again.
