An Port Mór in Westport

Returned to An Port Mór and it was even better than the first time! The food was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared—while the service was attentive and friendly throughout. Highly recommend

Best place west of the Shannon.

I went for dinner for my birthday and had a wonderful time. We had the 3 course set menu for €44 each and it was delicious. Very good quality produce, seasonal and fresh. The staff was lovely and the atmosphere is nice and refined. I'd definitely recommend!

The Best place to eat in Westport. Everything about the restaurant is perfect. 💯 in every way cannot wait to return.

A nice restaurant but I had expected better. It was very expensive and the food was overall bland. Not a great selection of wine. Staff were good. I did not complain about anything as it was what it was.

On a cold, wet Mayo evening, my wife Vivien and I found exactly the welcome we needed at An Port Mór restaurant in the county. From the moment we arrived, Lucy and Sophie greeted us with a warmth and ease that immediately set the tone for a memorable night, making the weather outside feel entirely irrelevant. I began with beautifully prepared smoked salmon, followed by a blade of beef that was nothing short of superb - rich, tender, and deeply satisfying, before finishing with a perfectly executed crème brûlée, all accompanied by elegant, well-chosen wines that complemented each course effortlessly. Vivien’s meal was equally impressive: a comforting, flavourful soup to start, followed by delicately cooked hake, and a pavlova that was as light and delicious as it was beautifully presented. Port Mór once again reminded us why it remains our favourite restaurant in the West of Ireland if not the '32' counties: exceptional food, thoughtful wine pairings, and lovely people with genuine hospitality that turns an evening out into something truly special. Okay, image if Chapter One and the Winding Stair went on holidays and opened a restaurant in Westport, Co. Mayo. It is honest, homely and true Irish fare with one of the best interpretations of a salmon starter. A venison main, which is not easy to present, is one of the finest I've ever had. It is a true test of a fine restaurant on how to offer such a complex meat. It was perfect! The desert brought back memories of my Granny's best rice pudding. Not at all easy to replicate to such perfection. All topped off with excellent service and wonderful atmosphere! Thank you to all the team at An Port Mór!
