Cornstore in Cork

Unfortunately the set menu left a lot to be desired as a vegetarian. I recently attended a Christmas party here and was dissatisfied to see that the main course options included six fish and meat dishes while only having a cauliflower steak available for vegetarians and vegans. The cocktails were incredible and everyone else in my party thoroughly enjoyed their food but the lack of a second option for vegetarians was disappointing (especially when there was two options for poultry, fish and beef) Maybe the a la carte menu would be more inclusive but for anyone thinking of booking a party with a set menu, If there is a vegetarian or vegan in the group I would go elsewhere.

Beautiful decorated venue for our Christmas night out. Staff were attentive and provided a wonderful service. Everyone enjoyed the food and the variety at the table.

Amazing food and 10/10 service from all staff from the second we entered the restaurant. Was delighted to see oysters on the menu as they are hard to find in Cork and one of my favourites dishes! Can’t wait to return again.

Too easy to review this. Best food ever. But I’ll give this place what it deserves and tell you how good this place is. The Cornstore is luxurious restaurant with phenomenal, attentive, knowledgeable and welcoming staff with genuinely, serving the best food I’ve ever tasted, delivering the best experience I’ve ever had in a restaurant. The place is beautiful, and whilst you could argue the menu is a little pricey, I will argue it is worth every penny and a bargain for what you are getting. A standout employee was our waiter Max, to which I could not be compliment enough. He was quick, attentive, constantly checked in for if we needed anything or how we were finding our meal, he was friendly, funny, and had a genuine warmth in him to which you can’t find elsewhere in this industry. Working in hospitality it’s easy to see Max is a one of a million employee to which would be a great addition to anyone wherever his career takes him. He was knowledgeable of everything on the menu, had great recommendations, again, truly can not say enough good about him. On top of this, the food? Out of this world. I had said to my company that this was genuinely the best food I ever had. Ordering buffalo chicken wings, a ribeye, and a Chateaubriand to share, genuinely the Chateaubriand with the garlic butter was the most delicious thing I have ever had the privilege of tasting. This exceeded all expectations and left perfectly stuffed but craving so much more. The Cornstore Cork is an easy recommendation and I do not say lightly is the best restaurant experience I’ve ever had. Thank you to the staff & to the chefs for a wonderful experience.

Max Defines Exceptional Service at The Cornstore, Cork After more than a decade working as a hotelier and restaurateur, I can confidently say I’ve seen every shade of hospitality, the good, the bad, and the forgettable. But every so often, you encounter someone who reminds you exactly what true service excellence looks like. During my recent visit to The Cornstore in Cork City, that person was Max, who delivered what can only be described as the most outstanding service I have experienced in years. From the moment we arrived, Max demonstrated a level of professionalism, intuition, and genuine warmth that is increasingly rare in the industry. His presence alone elevated the entire dining experience. He greeted us with a confident, authentic smile (not the rehearsed kind) and immediately set a tone of comfort and attentiveness. What truly sets Max apart is his instinct. He has that remarkable ability to read a table effortlessly, when to approach, when to step back, when to recommend, when to listen. He anticipates needs before they’re expressed and does so without hovering or interrupting the natural flow of the evening. It’s the kind of skill that can’t be trained, it comes from passion, talent, and a genuine love for the craft of hospitality. His menu knowledge was exceptional. He could describe dishes in vivid, mouth-watering detail. His pacing throughout the meal was perfection, courses felt relaxed yet timely, drinks arrived exactly when they should, and we never once felt rushed or neglected. That balance is harder to achieve than most diners realise, yet Max executed it seamlessly. What impressed me most was his grace under pressure. The restaurant was bustling, a steady flow of guests arriving, the kind of environment that reveals a professional’s true character. And yet, Max remained composed, charming, and completely in control. He moved with purpose and confidence, always attentive but never flustered. Great service is as much about presence as it is about action, and Max embodies both. A brilliant waiter doesn’t just serve food, they shape memories. Thanks to Max, our evening felt curated, personal, and genuinely special. He transformed what would have been a lovely dinner into an experience I will remember for a long time. If every establishment had a Max on their team, the hospitality industry would be thriving beyond measure. I cannot emphasise this enough! Max is, without question, one of the finest waiters I have ever encountered and that statement comes from someone who has spent a large part of their life on the other side of the pass. His professionalism, passion, and natural aptitude for service make him an extraordinary asset to The Cornstore and a shining example of what true hospitality looks like. If you dine here and you absolutely should! I sincerely hope you have the privilege of being served by Max. He is a superstar in every sense of the word. We walked in greeted by pleasant smiles and a lovely atmosphere. Food was perfect ,beef is soft tender and tasteful with hints of garlic and gorgeous sauce, the citrus chicken was outstanding , our waiter (Larisa) was very helpful ,kind and friendly always checking to see how she could make our experience better . A MUST to visit .

It was the second time me and my wife had dinner at the Cornstore Cork. Nothing disappointed, from the food and service. Marcela was once again great to us, giving us the best advice. Good place for any occasion.
