Cronin's Sheebeen in Westport

Stopped off for a snack here while out walking along the Clew Bay coast. Fabulous chowder. The new black pudding starter was great also. (I sneak in here on my evening "stroll" also, for a chat and a pint,,,, shhhh😅🤫)

A cery quaint and cosy bar/restaurant set in a beautiful location, just a short distance from Westport Town. Really good food. The fish and chips were delicious, and the Mussels devine. Great service by friendly, helpful, and happy staff. A real treasure of a place and a must on your list if you're visiting Westport.

A short cab ride from Westport centre and you’re at Cronins. When we first arrived our table for 4 was small table in the bar which was just the wrong side of cosy! However , with the water Jug and wine bottle on the floor, and careful management of space we coped and it became part of the experience! The staff were excellent and service prompt. The food itself was excellent with my fish and chips main one of my highlights of the week. Definitely worth a visit and not to be missed.

My daughter and I had dinner here. It was lovely we shared a starter of peri peri prawns which was delicious. My daughter had the pork belly from menu and I had prawn scampi from the specials both dishes were lovely. The service was great and the place had a fabulous atmosphere, would definitely recommend it. Also beautiful setting.

Fitted us in as a walk in with a 🐕. The food was excellent, decor. Ambience and staff fabulous. Definitely a place to come back to when we are passing this way.

I’m sitting here with my girlfriend in Fishshop Bondi Beach, Sydney after our dinner reminiscing on fish meals we’ve had together. 18 months on from our visit to Cronin’s Sheebeen it is still the nicest fish I’ve ever had. It was a white fish in lemon and parsley butter from memory. It was absolutely exceptional. So good in fact that its memory spurred me to write my first Google review 18 months later. If you’re like me and typically steer clear from fish on the bone due to the supposed additional effort needed to eat it, this is the one place I can assure you that it is 100% worth it.

Disappointed 😞 I ordered the CRISPY pork which wasn't in any way CRISPY. I expected some crackling but soft pork was served, well cooked but the gravy was cold, the best part of the dish was the black pudding croquet. My partner had ray wing and that was all he had apart from a bit of lemon, capers and vinegar. We were given a crescent shaped dish of mashed potato (one scoop)with veg that was ratatouille - loads of courgette, pepper and carrot - fresh seasonal veg would have been nicer. The pork was €25.90 and the ray wing was €32.90. Very expensive for small portions. I must say though our desserts lemon posset and strawberries was lovely apart from a hair in my lemon shortbread. It was very busy so I know things might have been rushed but I don't think we will eat there again.
