Not the donnellys I remember. Unfortunately, all four of us were quite underwhelmed with the food. The chowder was cream and fish and no comparison to other galway staples.

The seafood chowder is amazing, the best I have tried in Galway. Looking forward to visiting again when next in the area to see family.

Came into today after a hard day's training, few pints of stout, brie for starter and ribeyes for the 3 of us.
Food was delicious, great steaks, sides were plenty and the sauces were cooked with care.
The waitresses were lovely and attentive.
Definitely recommend, Rugby on the background, great fire keeping the place warm.
General buzz about the place, just like the pubs of old in this country, a brilliant homage to the glory days of the Irish family pub.

Nous avons dîné 2 fois dans ce pub, tellement c'était bon. Le fish and chips est succulent, le rôti de boeuf (le dimanche) aussi, les saucisees de même. Le tout est servi par un personnel aux petits soins et, chose rare, on peut boire de la Guinness 0.

We came in for lunch midweek and found a friendly welcome, they open at 1300 but welcomed us in before.
We had starters and mains for lunch which were very good - the chowder starter is excellent- loads of fish and served with good quality bread.
Fish and chips was good a large serving and would probably not order both - too much for me! The fries were fine, think they were oven cooked as opposed to deep fried.
Would definitely recommend- phone to try.
