Stunning meal this Friday with friends!! Food delicious creative and filling. Very much getting the full fine dining experience with the à la carte menu with all the lovely extra mini courses, great bang for buck! The staff were warm and attentive and our 1 small piece of feedback (not much considering 4 of us and multiple courses) was received graciously. The wine was all excellent. The Czech bubbles and the Lebanese red highlights to name but two. Will be back!!

I can describe this restaurant as a hidden gem. First time I was here with my wife for Valentine’s and I was surprised how well it went. We love “Nordic” feel and Michelin-style service. It was great experience and did not cost much. Later, I came across their social media Brunch kick-off. Very first time I have ordered Californian style croissant with crab meat 👌 I came back today and ordered Royale eggs Benedict’s croissant - I cannot complement enough all team as this is truly a gem! Servers are polite and looking after you, giving right recommendations (I was asked how hungry am I and would I prefer a larger meal or a bit lighter option, walking through the menu, explaining each option). Royale was delicious and eggs were poached to perfection! In my opinion this is just perfect size portion for brunch 👍 I have also ordered latte in oat milk to go and enjoyed the rest of my brunch while driving. This is also a place for proper Brunch as many places would stop serving “breakfast” by midday, here they are only starting at 11:30. Will be back for dinner and real Wagyu A5 steak experience very soon! Thank you team!

I booked dinner at Blackthorn this weekend, and all I can say is wow. I don't even know where to begin. From the moment we arrived, Fergal made us feel so welcome. He was attentive, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable, setting the tone for what turned out to be an exceptional dining experience. We chose the grazing menu, and it's safe to say this is one of the best dining experiences I've had in Galway. The quality of the food was outstanding, the ambience was beautiful, and the attention to detail throughout the evening was second to none. From the Banksy-inspired plates to the refreshing sorbet at the end, every course was thoughtfully presented and absolutely delicious. Emma and Aisling were equally fantastic, warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. They checked on us regularly without ever being intrusive, making us feel truly looked after throughout the evening. Compliments to the chef and the entire team for creating such a memorable experience. Blackthorn has set an incredibly high standard, and I genuinely believe a Michelin star could be on the horizon. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an outstanding dining experience in Galway.

I was lucky enough to celebrate two birthdays dining at Blackthorn. Everything lived up to expectations. It's a complete experience that includes, of course, the food, but also the ambiance and the service. On both occasions, the manager, F, went out of his way to make my day special, surprising us with every detail. Without a doubt, Blackthorn is the best restaurant in Galway.

This place was such a hidden gem. We found it last minute coming from Galway and managed to get a reservation. The service was great and the food was even better. The prime rib was honestly some of the best I’ve had great quality and cooked perfectly. Definitely a place we’ll be coming back to soon.
