Durty Nelly's in Bunratty

Right next to Bunratty Castle, this wonderful restaurant/bar has a friendly atmosphere and lovely food. We ate there twice on our visit to Ennis Ireland. Great staff, great food, great atmosphere. Will go back!

Great spot to stop for lunch after touring Bunratty. Our whole party enjoyed their lunch. I appreciated the gluten free options. Solid lunch spot for sure.

Food was excellent 👌 service was a bit hit & miss. We were seated promptly but otherwise it was slow even though the place wasn't busy.

The food and atmosphere was wonderful. Our waiter, though, was rather perfunctory and not especially friendly. After our meal, savoring our drinks, he asked if we would mind moving to another table to make space for a piano player. I responded NO--we wished to remain seated at our own table and enjoy our drinks. We were two adult women--I wonder if he would have asked men to move. Subtle discrimination? This is the only reason I rate it a 3.

The menu use to be brilliant very little choice now even people beside us said it they have had the same food the last view times love nellies and staff but up the menu

I've had a small glass of beer while being there, around Bunratty castle. Very nice pub, by the river Realty, welcoming bartender that told me to walk around, to see the pub.

Whilst visiting our Irish family over Christmas we decided to check out the very famous Durty Nelly’s which is located next to the formidable Bunratty Castle. In Ireland I have discovered you sit around in pubs and talk about the Guinness served within the establishment! It was a very decent pint here… but then again it serves 1000’s in a month and it’s been open since 1620 😉. As you’d expect the pub is completely authentic and very atmospheric frequented by what looked like fellow tourists whom like us were probably visiting the family over the festive period… The menu is a good size with plenty of Irish influenced dishes and veggie options. We ordered a Cajun chicken salad a burger plus the ‘famous’ chowder. The food arrived quickly, the portions were generous and both my buddies fell silent so you know it’s ’hitting the spot’ ! This pub is set up for large amounts of business, the style of menu and food reflects that in a really good way. We skipped pudding as by now we’d drank our fill of the delicious‘Black Stuff’ ! We were informed by a lovely waitress that the coffee came from a machine so we skipped that also… shame but understandable. The team were young, super friendly and efficient. Off we went into the gorgeous sunshine to discover what horrors lurk within Bunratty! Thanks team
