Finnegan's in Galway

Absolutely delicious shepards pie and vegetable soup was some of the best I’ve had. Service was excellent. Only negative was a heater was blowing strongly on us making the space very warm. Would happily return and recommend for an affordable meal.

Irish cuisine isn't very extensive or varied, but if you go to Ireland, you have to try it at least once. This place serves excellent food and is very quick. In my opinion, the shepherd's pie is a must! The prices are very reasonable for Galway standards.

This place is fine, except: They seem to use some kind of fake butter in their veg. Nearly €20 for a main - use real butter. Service is slow - only one waitress for the whole restaurant when it was full. There was another person working the floor but she refused to get a drink (when she was standing behind the bar) or take orders. Take the money, up your game.

We were in Ireland for the first time and tried some traditional dishes. This was the first Irish stew we had, made with authentic ingredients, without any added "looks better" stuff – simply perfect! 👍 The atmosphere was fantastic – wonderfully chaotic, authentically Irish, and steeped in history. It wasn't like some pubs that cater to tourists. Please don't offer pizza!! This isn't Italy, this is Ireland! 👍

A great pub with very good, original food that I couldn't find anywhere else in Ireland. The best and strongest tea I've ever had.

Had dinner with my family. Service took a while but girl was alone, and was very polite and attentioned, but took quite long for us to order due the fact she was alone. Had fish and chips, and it was nice.

After three years of living in Galway, this was my first time trying traditional Irish cuisine. It was fine, but nothing more than that. Overall, the food was just okay. I hope they improve the quality, because as someone from another country, I found Italian cuisine in Galway more appealing and easier to enjoy than Irish food. Of course, I must say that you really get decent food for the price you pay.
