Finnegan's in Galway

27/10/2024: If you like fine dining, but don't fancy the prudish atmosphere of most other fine dining establishments, you should definitely come to this place. Eating in a nice, friendly atmosphere makes the food even more delicious, although it's already pretty delicious on its own. We had appetizer, main course and dessert and everything was interesting and delicious. The portions were a good size and you'd be totally full with just one main course (be warned about the chocolate mouse for dessert, it's really huge). Would have it again anytime.

19/10/2024: We had lunch at Kai and it was a wonderful experience. We got there early and had a pre-lunch slice of pistachio cake & hot chocolate. Amazing! We got to watch them hand write the lunch menu on the chalkboard, and the restaurant fill up quickly as noon approached. Their menu had really fresh and seasonal items. Beets were a feature in many of the dishes that afternoon, which was a bonus as it's my husband's favorite vegetable. We topped off our lunch with two more slices of cake. A tangerine & thyme tart for my husband, and a black forest, hazelnut, & cherry tart for myself. This was the most satisfying dessert I've had in a LONG time. I could not stop smiling as I ate it, and tried to go as slow as possible savoring the perfect combination of all the ingredients! Go to this restaurant! Go early! Have lots of cake! :)
