Finnegan's in Galway

Beautiful historic place, excellent food and service.

We had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately the food and the atmosphere leave a lot to be desired. The food (we ordered fish and chicken) tastes like something you can expect to be fed on the airplane, and the omnipresent AC units and cheaply decorated walls spoil any hope of charm. Overall - a tourist trap. Don’t be us and put more effort in finding a good restaurant.

Excellent service, amazing staff and the food was good.

I had pleasure of having dinner at Finnegan’s, for traditional Irish food. Food was excellent and hearty with lots of potatoes - traditional Irish style I guess. The shepherd pie was excellent especially. The portion size was appropriate for the price of meal, which I liked. It looks dingy inside because of the low ceilings and small space, but it’s just sign of being old and traditional. Each corner and little things show signs of Ireland and their pride. The staff was clear, helpful, and efficient all along - and it was only one staff from seating, serving and billing - super fast as well! But only one thing, they could do better with different air freshener I reckon…

Some dishes were over salted but tasty. Great atmosphere, location and very good prices.

Everything is great, the atmosphere, the service, the food. This is the first time I tasted the traditional Irish stew, and it's really delicious, don't hesitate to have it if you pass by. !

Small, nice place to eat in Galway when visiting the city centre. The place is conveniently located, we were given a table quickly and the food arrived quite quickly too! We ordered bangers & mash and fish & chips. Husband loved the meaty dish, fish & chips was a massive portion and it conquered me! I prefer hand cut chips to those served in Finnegans but overall I cannot complain! The food was exactly what we needed in a rainy April day in Galway 🙂

Dans une déco originale (cherchez la ferme 😊), la promesse d’une cuisine traditionnelle irlandaise est tenue. Le stew de bœuf à la guiness était excellent et réconfortant avec la température qui avait baissé ! Le poulet kiev a été cependant moins apprécié. Le service était un peu suffisant, c’est bien dommage.

Recomiendo encarecidamente Finnegans para el desayuno, siempre fresco y una gran relación calidad-precio, nuestro ir a cada vez que visitamos Galway!
