Goosers in Ballina

Food was amazing, definitely one of the best chowders we ever had. We had the seafood hotpot, pâté and the chowder. What drove me to write a review however was the amazing staff today on Sunday night. The service was impeccable and the girls were extremely kind and helpful. Definitely recommend and will for sure be coming back!

What a fantastic dining experience! My wife and I decided to have a impromptu dinner to celebrate making it to Friday, and decided we would chance seeing if we could make it to our local and recently renovated restaurant, Goosers. I called at 5, and wasn't surprised they couldn't get to the phone. It's busy, I understood. I did NOT expect a call back less than 5 minutes later! I asked about dinner and they had a table for me and my wife for 6. Lovely! We were greeted by the beaming face of the manager Edel, who welcomed us to the restaurant and I was very impressed with the amount of work done to the place, as I had been there on the odd time over the years before the renovation. It looks so fancy now, while still having that rustic charm at the front. We were then very well taken care of by Meg, our server, who was so happy to answer any questions we had. Being vegan, I always feel awkward asking questions that I would totally understand any server not knowing, but Meg had no bother helping me find a meal and making sure it was to my needs. Now, the food. Oh, the food! I've rarely left a restaurant ACTUALLY full, honestly, but this was one of those times. I ordered a mushroom burger, which had TWO patties, and chips and salad AND sweet potato fries. And the burger was actually substantial, y'know? My wife had the vegetarian curry, and we ate and chatted away, enjoying our evening immensely. She had enough left for her next meal, and I walked away very satisfied. Meg was very attentive, always checking in on us when we needed. Edel was a woman at work, helping so many other customers and still made time to chat. Thanks to both of you for a lovely experience! Vegan options and excellent dining. Highly Recommended!

Good plain food, friendly service and atmosphere

Nice place to eat. Went there with my family for an early dinner. Service is very friendly but was a bit disappointed with my burger so can’t give it the full 5 stars.

Really good food, bit on the pricey side but when it's good you don't mind and this was excellent. Perfect end to a day installing stretch tents for Stretch Tents Ireland

Managed to get a walk in on a very busy BH weekend. Staff are great, service good but not rushed. Food was excellent and well priced. Tried to get in again ( we were there unexpectedly) but it was too busy, so book ahead. Good vibes there too!

The food was delicious, as were the margaritas 👌🏼
