Gourmet Tart Company in Galway

Went in here last week to get a coffee and a sandwich, the atmosphere was pleasant. It was very affordable. The sandwich tasted better as its homemade compared to big retail chains. Well done to the people in gourmet who make these amazing sandwiches.

I enjoyed a slice of raspberry pistachio tart for €3.50 and an Americano for €2.80 at Gourmet Tart Co. in Salthill. The taste of the cake was really convincing - fresh, balanced sweetness, and with a pleasant pistachio note. The coffee was also aromatic and offered a solid complement to the cake. On a positive note, there is plenty of seating and the toilets were clean and in good condition. Unfortunately, the experience is marred by a few aspects. The cleanliness of the tables leaves something to be desired as they are usually dirty. The disposable cutlery and cardboard plates used look cheap and take away a lot of the ambience of the café. The lack of WiFi is also a clear negative point these days. All in all, the price-performance ratio is okay, but the lack of attention to detail and the low appreciation from guests in terms of facilities and cleanliness mean that I only give it 3 out of 5 stars. Gourmet Tart Co. could do a lot more with its potential with small improvements.

The walls are adorned with simple drawings and shelves with products, creating a pleasant and organized atmosphere for visitors. The space invites guests to relax with a cup of coffee and enjoy fresh pastries in a calm and cozy environment.

Cute little cafe with lots of options and great convenience. Grabbed a yogurt and granola, some pastries as well as sandwiches there for my hikes and they were just fine! Perfect for the price and vegetarian options available as well. The staff was very friendly. Would go again!

Just love it. Good food at a great price

The wifi was fast and the restroom adequate. The food all looked delicious and I planned to meet up with my wife to try it out for lunch so having availed of their facilities I just grabbed a take out cappuccino. I mean I’m an old age tramp walking streets in over 75 different countries (so far) while my wife shops. I shop occasionally and I’m quick. I’ve slouched around musing in my own world spring, autumn, winter and summer in temperatures ranging from minus 22c to 56c. The welcome here was stilted, sort of not a great vibe. As I walked with my coffee, well it didn’t taste great at all. I was disappointed as I expected it to be delicious but it was ok, just ok so that ruined here out for a return including lunch. Maybe personal taste maybe lack of skill making it but it was not to my taste no thanks. Oh dear, what a pity, never mind.
