What a spectacular hotel. 5 plus stars for rooms and service. Staff was incredible. The general manager Gerhard took such good care of our family. He is absolutely an asset to this hotel. Also, Jack, the server in the restaurant was so attentive to our families needs and has to be one of the best we have had to serve us. If this hotel is not on your bucket list, it should be!

I am a return guest and Hayfield Manor does not disappoint! Food, service and atmosphere is amazing. We had a group in for the week and did a beautiful private dinner in the Orchids room. A HUGE, SPECIAL shout out to Liam for being so helpful and diligent and helping me get my luggage which did not arrive with me! I am SO appreciative to him for going above and beyond to reunite me with my luggage!! I will be back.

We stayed at Hayfield during our stop in Cork during honeymoon trip to Ireland. The staff were impeccable, the grounds were beautiful and the restaurant (Perrott’s) and bar were delicious and inviting. We stayed in one of their suites and had everything we needed. Breakfast room service arrived promptly on time and hot. We’re very happy with our stay.

While I do believe our 9-month-old was the only baby on-site during our stay, Hayfield Manor was by far the most baby-friendly hotel we stayed at during our trip. We road-tripped all around Ireland and stayed at five different hotels, and Hayfield absolutely blew us away. They had robes waiting for my husband and me, plus an adorable baby robe for our son. A beautiful little wooden crib was already set up in the room, and the staff brought all of our bags up for us and kept our car nearby in case we needed to quickly grab anything. The staff was beyond amazing, and the breakfast was hands-down the best we had the entire trip. They offered a mix of high-quality continental options along with a full menu to order from, and you could enjoy both. We also ate dinner on-site our first night, and it was incredible. They even had a baby food option with soft chopped vegetables and potatoes for our son. The indoor pool was another highlight. It was the perfect temperature and such a great way for our son to burn off some energy before bed. It was absolutely gorgeous too, with draped ceilings and Frank Sinatra-style music playing in the background. The hotel is about a 20-minute walk to Fitzgerald Park and around 25–30 minutes walk to the city center for food and exploring. Overall, this hotel was perfect, and we will 1000% be coming back.

Our stay at Hayfield Manor recently was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the whole ethos of the hotel shone through, genuine care, attention, and a real commitment to making guests feel completely looked after. Every member of staff went above and beyond to cater for our every need, always with warmth and professionalism. Nothing was too much trouble, and that level of thoughtful service made our stay truly special. The food was superb throughout. What impressed us most was how accommodating the chefs and staff were. My husband and I are not big eaters, and they very happily prepared smaller portions for us without hesitation, while still delivering beautifully presented and delicious meals. Our bedroom was wonderfully designed and clearly very well thought out, combining comfort, elegance, and all the little touches that make a stay memorable. The garden may be small, but it is perfectly formed , peaceful, immaculate, and a lovely place to relax. Quite simply, we cannot fault Hayfield Manor. The hotel, the staff, the food, and the entire experience were outstanding. It is a place that truly understands hospitality, and we are already looking forward to returning.

The Fota Restaurant

10/05/2026: Fota Island Resort — Short Enthusiast Overview Fota Island Resort A large 5-star luxury golf and spa resort set on its own private island in Cork Harbour, Fota Island Resort is one of Ireland’s most complete “all-in-one” luxury estates — combining hotel, lodges, championship golf, and a world-class spa just minutes from Cork City. Atmosphere Think: A modern Irish luxury island estate — green, spacious, and built around golf, woodland, and calm coastal air. It feels less like a historic manor and more like a self-contained luxury resort village, where nature, sport, and wellness are the focus. Why it stands out Located on a private island in Cork Harbour, ~15 minutes from Cork City Set across hundreds of acres of woodland and landscaped grounds One of Ireland’s top golf resorts (championship courses, Irish Open history) Strong spa and wellness reputation (large hydrotherapy and treatment facilities) Mix of hotel rooms + suites + self-catering lodges for different travel styles Signature experiences 🏌️ Championship golf courses (major tournament pedigree) 🧖 Large ESPA-style spa with pools, hydrotherapy, and treatment suites 🌲 Woodland walking trails and cycling routes across the estate 🏊 Indoor pool + fitness + wellness facilities 🍽 Fine dining and relaxed resort restaurants 🏡 Lodge stays for groups and families (full kitchen, fireplaces, privacy) What enthusiasts love most The scale of the estate (huge, green, and private island setting) Golf-first luxury resort experience Choice between hotel comfort and private lodge living Strong spa + wellness infrastructure Easy access to Cork while still feeling “away from everything” Style & character Compared with Ireland’s other luxury hotels: Less historic than Ballyfin or Ashford Castle More resort-driven than boutique manor hotels like Sheen Falls More activity-focused than romantic “quiet luxury” properties Best described as: “Ireland’s flagship modern golf-and-spa resort on a private island estate.” Best for Golf-focused luxury trips Families and group stays (lodges are a big draw) Spa + wellness weekends Active resort holidays (tennis, trails, sports) Cork-based luxury escapes close to the city Official site: Fota Island Resort Official Website
07/05/2026: Did the Me & You couples spa package and had such a lovely day! We started off with lunch which was delicious - chicken fajita bowl and an array of cake slices. We then did the mud bath (which also includes an outdoor sauna), followed by a massage and facial. In between treatments, we were put into the relaxation room, which was lovely. We finished all our treatments with some light refreshments. All in all, we were there from about 11.30-5.30, so I think we got our money worth. All of the staff were really welcoming and friendly, from the receptionist and the servers, to the masseuses. Everywhere was so clean too!! Really enjoyed this package and will definitely be back. I feel so refreshed!!
