Hooked in Galway

A great restaurant for seafood! The risotto is really good, as are the croquettes (but really expensive, €12 for three small croquettes). The service, in my opinion, needs to be improved. It was quite slow (it took a good twenty minutes for us to take our order), and then when it came time for the starters (to share), they didn't bring us small plates (even though the server offered them), and the wait between courses was also quite long (at least half an hour).

Simple dishes but very well executed! Fresh products and various choices, a good address to share. Some downsizes, a bit difficult to book a table even though the waiting list is surely helping and the restaurant could be a bit loud. Otherwise we had a good time, thank you to the staff

Food is excellent. Service from most of the team is also excellent. This would have been 5 stars, except for a completely unnecessary passive aggressive comment from the person who seated us - we booked a table for 5 and arrived exactly on time. When we got there our table was ready and we were pointed to it. The problem for us is that it was two benches and 4 of our group are pensioners, two with pretty bad health problems. The group clearly does not look very young and mobile. I very politely asked if there was any chance we could have a table with chairs or some kind of backs because they wouldn't be able to sit on a bench for dinner. The place was getting busy, but I didn't think it would be a huge problem, as the place is full of tables that don't have benches, but rather chairs or better seating. The person came back and pointed to a new table with 4 chairs, which was great. She then turned away slightly and mumbled at me that "next time you need to specify that you need chairs in your booking". This was unnecessary, and put a dampener on the whole evening. She just couldn't help but to say it. How is it normal to need to specify chairs have backs on them in a booking, and why is not ok to ask for it when we get presented with a bench?

I cannot recommend Hooked enough! My family and I dined here the other night and we had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The service was quick and attentive and every dish was delicious. This is a great dinner spot for a no-frills, but delicious seafood experience.

La comida aquí era absolutamente genial... Todo el mundo consiguió algo y disfrutó de su comida. Sin embargo, a pesar de estar ocupados, estábamos decepcionados con su servicio. Pusieron nuestro aperitivo, pero claramente olvidaron poner nuestras entradas. Después de 45 minutos, y sin poder contactar con nuestro camarero, finalmente le pregunté a una de las otras mujeres que trabajaban allí. Ella regresó y se dio cuenta de lo que pasó y dijo que pusieron en nuestra orden inmediatamente y que serían otros 10 minutos. Pero no había nada más que eso. No hubo disculpas reales, no hubo correo, comped, no hay un poco de pan mientras tanto, etc.
