Food was amazing!! We were in a booth that was very tight, but the restaurant and the bathrooms were very clean.

We visited on Valentine’s Day evening, and they kindly seated us quickly. As visitors to Ireland, we found this restaurant on a whim and were not disappointed! Everything tasted amazing and all very fresh: Highly recommend! Pictured: Mussels in garlic sauce, grilled fish and chips, seafood linguine

We wanted to try fish cuisine while passing Galway, found this place and it was exactly what we wished. Food, service, atmosphere and interior design, all on a high level.

This is an alright restaurant. Wine and butter mussels: pretty nice, good flavour. A BIT above average. Deep fried squid: pretty hard and dry. Below average. Chowder soup: taste better after we put salt. Average. Seafood risotto: the rice was super soft, far from "al dente", a bit mushy. Although the fish was pretty nice, I'm so disappointed about the rice. Way Below average. Oyster: they were fine. Average. Staffs are friendly and the environment was good. A lot of space between tables.

Our favorite restaurant in Galway. Reservations are necessary every time we've been. The food is excellent, especially the seafood chowder. We've never been disappointed and will definitely return the next time we're in Galway. This restaurant is fantastic.

Hyde

24/03/2026: We went from pub to pub and nothing was really quenching my satisfaction. I enjoyed the Guinness but wanted more. I heard about this place so walked in without a reservation with hubby. Everyone was nice and we got a cute table right away. Ordered a flight of Irish gin and loved the experience! Bartender came and explained each in detail and then later made me an amazing drink no longer in the menu with rose petals and lemon sweet foam! It was Amazing! We ordered the spicy sausage pizza and mezze appetizer with hummus and nothing was left. We leave Galway tomorrow but everyone was so nice wish we could go back.
24/03/2026: Honestly I cannot recommend this place enough. It’s rare places get the aesthetic, vibes, prices, drink and food all right by The Hyde absolutely does. Went there for cocktails the first night of my friend’s hen do and then for brunch the day after. Laura who booked everything couldn’t have been more helpful and our server Natasha was fab on the day. Portions were generous, drinks were amazing, food was delicious. We also were all dressed as Fr Ted characters and they were not snooty about his at all, if anything they embraced us! They even let us bring out and cut a special Fr Ted “jumper cake” which they kindly disposed of 🤣 Everything was just amazing. The pace is really chilled and lovely, can’t wait to go back again.

The Skeff

09/09/2025: Authentic pub with fantastic food! Service was rather mediocre.
09/09/2025: The Skeff is part of the The Skeffington Arms Hotel. Food was very good. The Seafood Chowder and a couple of (non!) Stout beers from other parts of Ireland were a welcomed change of pace. IPA's, actually. One from Letterkenny, and the other from Kill, County Kildare. Other than the service being just a tad slow, it was (overall) very good. And the live music was magical this night. Okay...Not exactly magical, but covers from bands/artists that everyone knows, sung by a group of a youngish band of 3 called The Groev. They did a great job, actually.
