Nice quiet spot walking distance from Quay St. Great fish and chips, 4 of us shared two plates and also tried the mushy peas. Enough to fill us up for a bit until we found the next local gem we wanted to try. Staff was very friendly and the dining area had a cute coastal charm.

We stopped by this restaurant in Galway during a tour.
It was about a five-minute walk from the city center.
We arrived around 2:30 PM on a Saturday without a reservation, but there was free seating available and we were seated by the window. There were only two other groups of guests, so the atmosphere was quiet, and the food was served smoothly in about 10 minutes. Around 3 PM, the number of customers increased, including families with children and those ordering takeout.
I had forgotten my mobile battery at the hotel and my smartphone was running low on battery, but they kindly charged it for me when I asked.
The pasta and risotto were excellent—the best meal I had in Ireland. The mussels were cooked to perfection, and the shrimp were plump. 🦐
The garlic bread that came with the pasta was a perfect match for the risotto, and the portions were generous enough that we shared both dishes and were full to the brim.
(This is my first time posting a review on Google Maps, but I'm leaving a comment here because I think this is a restaurant that more Japanese people should visit. If you're ever in Galway, be sure to check it out! ☻)
If I have the opportunity to visit Galway again, I'll definitely come back. Thank you for the meal! ♡

Visiting Ireland for the first time and the Cod and chips was some of the best I've ever had. The craft beers (I had both the IPA and Lager) were excellent.

Don't get me wrong and food wasn't that bad but I've been going here now and then for years and portions are getting smaller and smaller but prices go up. I have no problem paying for fish, but when it comes to chips, portion was tiny and this is the cheapest part. Even when it comes to presentation, you'd expect a bit more salad with dressing on plate now. For example my wife doesn't eat much but ordered monkfish goujons, basically 3 goujons and a chips that fit in one small hand, nothing else and felt hungry afterwards. Thanks for responding, this is not necessarily true though and depending what you ordered chips also came in a bowl and while the metal containers have been the same in recent times, here images from the past how I remember it. The metal container now had half the amount of chips compared to these pics from 2018. As you can see it was also a bowl depending on the day. Maybe we were unlucky again but just saying that our container was not like these pics. No worries and will mention next time.
