Lovely cosy hotel in a beautiful setting. Spotless comfortable rooms and amazing enthusiastic staff who couldn’t do enough for you. Great value for money. Lovely food. Good parking near the hotel. Great atmosphere in the bar at night with music. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Mostly very good, a bit noisy outside our window (staff of the hotel working and moving things)

The room was clean and spacious but none of the lamps worked, the shower and toilet were temperamental, and the room was very warm. Thankfully they provide a small fan which helped.

Didnt stay the nite. But LOVED sitting outside having a holiday beer and watching the world go by. Staff were so friendly and helpful, dog was allowed in and they were well able for the 18 hungry people that landed out of the blue!

Set in a charming little village...and I do mean little..... is this wee country inn with a friendly and accommodating staff.
We arrived late, when the kitchen was closing and they snuck us in for dinner...which was tasty.
The inn needs an update as the carpets are getting threadbare, and there are water stains on the carpets outside the rooms.
Additional negatives: wifi was down....and there is no elevator (lift). it's a rough walk up to the 3rd floor (where the second floor rooms actually reside).

Hylands Burren Hotel is a historic hotel in an adorable little town, and beautifully reflects that while providing appropriate and necessary modern updates. My husband and I stayed here for one night while traveling around Ireland. We also ate dinner here the night we checked in. That was more because they were the only restaurant open other than a little take away place. Our room was comfortable and clean, and we slept well here. The bathtub/shower was a bit challenging, however. Thankfully there was a grab bar, but the tub was deep and high to get into, and the bathtub floor did not have any non skid surface or bath mat. While a beautiful place, the hotel staff was not what we would call friendly, or even personable. And the restaurant sadly was appalling with poor, rude service, ridiculously long waits to be served, and food that could be considered mediocre at best. Much to like about the Hylands Burren hotel, and much that needs improvement.

Title: A Tale of Contrasts: Exceptional Bar Service, Lacking Dining Experience at Hylands Burren Hotel
My recent stay at the Hylands Burren Hotel was marked by a stark disparity in service quality between the bar and dining areas, leaving me with mixed feelings about my overall experience at this establishment.
Let me begin by highlighting the commendable aspect of my stay - the bar staff at Hylands Burren Hotel. I found the bar staff to be exceptionally attentive, welcoming, and dedicated to ensuring a pleasant and memorable experience for guests. Their professionalism, passion for mixology, and friendly demeanor were truly remarkable. Whether I was seeking a recommendation for a signature cocktail or engaging in casual conversation, the bar staff consistently delivered top-notch service that exceeded my expectations. Their commitment to customer satisfaction was evident, and they were undoubtedly a highlight of my time at the hotel.
Conversely, the dining experience at Hylands Burren Hotel fell far below expectations and left much to be desired. Despite the inviting ambiance of the restaurant and an intriguing menu selection, the execution and quality of the dishes were disappointing. The food presented a marked contrast to the service excellence displayed by the bar staff. The flavors lacked depth, the presentation was lackluster, and the overall standard of the cuisine did not align with the hotel's reputation.
The disconnect between the exceptional bar service and the lackluster dining experience at Hylands Burren Hotel was evident throughout my stay. While the bar staff showcased a high level of professionalism, attentiveness, and expertise in their craft, the same level of dedication and quality assurance was notably absent in the culinary offerings of the hotel.
In reflection, the disparity in service quality between the bar and dining areas at Hylands Burren Hotel was a significant disappointment during my stay. While the bar staff excelled in creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere, the lack of culinary excellence marred the overall dining experience and detracted from the anticipated level of hospitality.
If Hylands Burren Hotel aims to provide a cohesive and exceptional guest experience, it is imperative that they address the shortcomings in their dining offerings to match the high standards set by their exemplary bar staff. A harmonious balance between service excellence and culinary quality is essential in delivering a truly memorable and satisfying stay for guests.
In conclusion, my stay at Hylands Burren Hotel was characterized by contrasting experiences - from the exceptional service provided by the bar staff to the disappointing dining experience that failed to meet expectations. For those seeking a well-rounded and consistent level of service and dining quality, I would advise caution when considering a stay at Hylands Burren Hotel until improvements are made to elevate the culinary standards to match the excellence demonstrated by the dedicated bar team.
