I can’t thank the team at Il Vicolo enough for making my proposal night so special. From the first email I sent to plan the engagement, Reena and Eleonora were incredible—so friendly, organised and thoughtful alongside with the other staff working on the night who set up a beautiful private spot on the outdoor terrace after our meal so I could propose to my partner, and made the whole evening feel effortless and one we will never forget. The entire staff were just amazing as well: attentive, friendly, informative and really went above and beyond for not only us but all the customers whilst I was there. The food was outstanding—authentic Italian flavours, perfectly cooked pasta, amazing wines and beers—and every detail felt crafted with care. Il Vicolo will always hold a special place in our hearts. If you’re looking for incredible italian food in Galway, warm service, and a team who truly go above and beyond this is a must and we cannot wait to come back! I cannot thank you guys enough! We came in last night for dinner. Everything was just wonderful from the food, to the service to the ambience. Thank you so much! This was the best meal we’ve had so far on our holiday. Many compliments to the chef!

My wife and I had the best experience the other night. The staff was amazing and attentive. And for the chef, I had made a request for a chefs choice. Words cannot truly explain the journey he took us on. You can tell the passion behind every dish we tried. Thank you so much for the experience!

The quail risotto tasted nice, but they didn’t even serve half a quail, and for that price is really not good at all. Very Disappointing

A lovely romantic spot over a river. Beautiful views from our seat or from the outdoor area. The food was excellent as was the wine selection. A very relaxed and memorable dinner.

Excellent food, we felt the Italian atmosphere on the flavours. The waiters team was super friendly and welcoming and we felt very good. Thanks very much, we will be back to try more of the delicious food 🙏

We walked into a packed Vicolo with great bosanova being played by a 4 piece group - turns out the lead singer is Brasilian Paulistano….a different collection of players every Sunday as there is so much talent in Galway. No table available before closing but we asked if we could at least have a drink at the full bar. Barman from Andalusia mixed a perfect martini and a table outside opened up. After delicious appetizers (amazing veggie plate is like nothing you have ever had ), we asked if a table had opened inside as it was getting chilly breezy out on the deck. They moved us inside for our main course - delicious pasta with shrooms and a light brown sauce. A dram of local Irish Whisky topped off a perfect last meal in Galway. Gracias y Hasta la próxima!
