A really nice bar in the heart of Killarney. We stumbled upon this place by chance and felt very welcome. Friendly service and friendly locals.

Exactly what you'd expect from a pub. All Irish, quirky characters, but friendly and open. Great atmosphere because almost everyone knows each other.

Always a great pint in a friendly atmosphere, a must visit when I am in Killarney! One of the few remaining true family run bars that exist anywhere, a rare hidden gem.

From an English perspective this is what a local pub should be. Lovely owners (4/5th generation), great drinks, brilliant atmosphere. I learnt all of this having a couple at the bar :)

16/06/2025: That's just my personal opinion: very loud, and even louder with live music. The service staff was great, and the guests were extremely friendly to us tourists.
12/06/2025: Went for evening live music and weren't disappointed The 2 guys - fiddle and vocalist/guitarist- were great. Small space good atmosphere and beer. Wine less so

Great Southern Killarney

12/06/2025: Wow! Sometimes you just don’t know what you’re going to get when you book a room, but we were so absolutely thrilled. The Great Southern in Killarney is AMAZING as are all the employees…..especially Cara McDowel…she was a bright spot at check-in and each day. You are all magnificent.
11/06/2025: This hotel is special. Great food and stellar service. It has the ambiance of being well loved for an extended period of time.
