A good and lively restaurant -- packed with people on a September evening -- but not so loud that conversation could not be heard. My chicken and mashed potato entree was delicious and beautifully plated with beans and bacon. Others in our party ordered steak and it was fine but maybe not the best thing on the menu. Everyone had the apple/berry crumble for dessert and enjoyed it. Service was slow but pleasant. The restaurant was crowded, so that is understandable. All servers were gracious and hard-working.

Went to a brunch in Kaynes for a hen the other day. I have to say, the food was lovely but more importantly, Ciara was amazing. She looked after us all so well and did it with a smile too. Would definitely return ☺️

Had dinner here and both food and staff were excellent. There is a closed off section for a dog friendly area which was perfect to have our dog Loki join us.

Food was nice but nothing exceptional, the spaghetti AL Ragu was the best thing we had, the rest was a little bland. We were told they had no cider nor any orange flavoured soft drinks when they pretty much had them. It must have been our server’s first few days for sure but we all have to start somewhere!

Unfortunately was expecting a nice gluten free dinner after a long day of travelling and it was not a pleasant experience. Waitresse not knowledgeable barely understood english. Was asked what I was allergic too after saying. “I have celiac disease, I’m allergic to gluten”. Had to asked her to get someone else that understood allergies. And even so, continued to return MULTIPLE time while we were eating to annoyingly asked “is all okay, need anything else?”. So much that I ended up just giving her my plate so we could leave.

Family with a 3-year-old child. Great atmosphere, they were wonderful with the child. They gave him crayons to keep him occupied while he waited, and there's a children's menu. Delicious food, and unbeatable service. Thank you so much, Daniel 😊

04/09/2026: Their homemade seafood chowder is incredibly delicious! I recommend indeed! However, there is only one check per table available. So paying separately was not an option for us.
01/09/2026: The beef stew is to die for,can't wait till we are back on Kerry mid September, will definitely be visiting a few times even though we are staying on Valentia island. Roll on September 16th.❤️🇮🇪❤️

The Candle Room

13/08/2026: Killarney Royal Townhouse was definitely the highlight of our trip. The service was outstanding, the room was incredible, and food was delicious. A personalized note and local treats were left for us when we arrived. We also received fresh scones at check out! These came in handy on a long train ride. The front desk staff was helpful at check in and with a small issue with the room window. For this very small inconvenience they offered us drinks in the restaurant another night. The turndown service with fresh water each night made us even more relaxed after long days exploring. Breakfast each morning was delicious. We enjoyed the made to order breakfast which was a nice treat after other hotels we stayed at. Also the location was perfect because you are walking distance to everything, but outside of all the activity. Everything was 5 star service! Thank you for making our stay so memorable.
06/07/2026: Absolutely amazing hotel. Everyone was so helpful and couldn't do enough to accommodate your stay. Highly recommend and a true bit of Irish hospitality.
