This hotel is probably one of the best hotels we have stayed in. It is the third hotel in this group we have stayed in.
The room was amazing, comfortable, beautifully designed, clean and quiet at night.
I could not fault it.
The breakfast was amazing. It did not have lots of variety but what was there was very good.
The porridge was very nice and I often don't like porridge.
The manager was friendly and supportive of new staff and all other staff. It was clear she worked closely with them and I am sure it was valued. There was all female staff serving breakfast.
We had one evening meal in Ember and it is this experience which really upset me personally and translated into three stars for me.
All the staff were male who worked in the evening. It was clear that one staff member needed extra support as they must have just started working at your hotel, but during our meal he just appeared left out, ignored and overlooked by the manager. I felt for him and what it must have done for his confidence. The evening manager made limited effort to support, encourage or just make him feel included. This was in direct contrast to what happened in the morning at breakfast.
Everyone needs to learn and the evening experience was a totally negative one. How can he ever learn in such an environment.
If I was this man who was learning I would not return but if he does it would be good if he has a better experience from now on.
I don't want to witness negative treatment of staff while I am eating or anywhere else.
This impacted greatly on my overall experience.

We stayed here for two nights. It’s centrally located (3 mins walk from the Kilkenny Castle, on the main road). We had breakfast included and it was amazing with good portions. Convenient parking (paid across the street).
Main cons: the room was uncomfortably warm (3rd floor) due to broken AC. Unable to open windows more than 3 inches and no screens. They did have a ceiling fan going and a pluggable fan available in the room.
Overall, we would recommend staying here for its well priced location.

The hotel had very nice rooms and was in an excellent location. However, there was no air conditioning, and the windows did not open. Despite the comfortable temperature outside, the rooms were uncomfortably hot.

Enjoyed a good stay here at the Hibernian Hotel. Very friendly staff at the reception and good location for restaurants. Breakfast was great - a good lovely Irish breakfast 😋. One star less for the Jacuzzi in my room which didn't seem to work or did I just not know how to turn it on?? 🤔

We had an absolutely amazing stay at the Kilkenny Hibernian Hotel! We were celebrating our anniversary, and to our delight, the staff upgraded us to a stunning suite. The room was not only beautiful but also incredibly comfortable – the bed was like sleeping on a cloud! The hotel's location is perfect, right in the heart of Kilkenny, making it easy to explore all the sights. The staff were so friendly and attentive, making us feel truly special during our stay. A highlight was dining at the Ember restaurant attached to the hotel – the food and ambiance were simply fantastic. We can't recommend this hotel enough and look forward to returning in the future!

I wish I could give this place a 10/10 review, but I just can't. 4 star hotel, and you can clearly see it'll never get that fifth star.
A hotel should have 2 things: 1. Great customer service (which they have), 2. A great night sleep (which they don't).
The rooms are old, with stains over much of the carpet.
The room doors are thin and you can hear all things that happen outside your door.
No AIRCON, so either sleep with the windows open, listening to the generators hum all night, or be prepared to be hot all night, even with the radiator off.
There is no wifi, unexpected of a 4 star hotel.
There is no car parking, not a big deal, but they don't validate parking. So it's pricy.
Would I stay here again? Sure, but only because of its central location. Get darker rooms, with sound proof doors, wifi, AIRCON, and validate parking, this would be a 10/10 stay. Other than that, the rooms are borderline 3 star.

Stayed in room 321, really nice spacious room but could hear the lift going up and down all night, old lift so makes really horrendous noise, this was irritating.
Staff were nice and the bar was comfortable.
